Then don’t. Can’t you just go without it?
Nah. The point is they’re not losing money on something I never intended to buy in the first place. It’s not the same thing as stealing from a store, where you’re taking a physical product that costs money to replace. There’s no loss involved for the company.
But if you pirate it, the whole motivation for ever buying it will be gone. Later, prices will drop. Usually if something is overpriced I wait for it to go down, then buy it. If piracy didn’t exist, and you really did want it, then you would probably do the same. So it is a loss.
Besides, who are you to judge on the pricing of things?
Thaaaaaank you!
I’m poor as fuck, I literally do not have $50 to spend on a game I could just get for free. If I REALLY want it I will buy it, but most of the time when I pirate games its out of just boredom and I wouldn’t even buy it when the price went down.
This. Except I did actually pirate Mount and Blade (awesome game btw), but at the time I didn’t know it was an indie game, and I do actually plan on buying it. Or at least the expansion \ sequel they’re making.
They’re making another Mount & Blade? SWEET!
i bought mountain blade and have bareley played it so thats like inverse pirateing
Y’know, the funny thing is, I hear music companies lose more money from iTunes than music pirating. But meh, could be a rumor, and I’m too lazy to investigate it.
T’was only a matter of time before ‘PB and Mini’ got man handled. I mean, when you have that many illicit files, SOMEONE is gonna sue SOMEBODY eventually. Just how the world works. All I know is that TPB may still be functioning, but it’s been limping along ever since that big court case garbage, and I don’t think it will ever recover. Guess people will have to start rightly earning their games, music, apps, etc. from now on.
…pirating isn’t dependent upon the frequency with which you use something. Last time I checked, it meant illicitly acquiring files without proper purchase.
“Hold on, I pirated a video game, but because I didn’t play it, that makes it a non-pirated game!”
Sorry, I just don’t see you’re logic here :3
I wish I could pirate physical things without having to leave my house, I’d download like 50 different ladies and they would all be programmed to s the d
Music: Sounds and a nice recording studio.
Games: Years of hard work, game design, bug testing, and a shit load of money.
The best you can expect from free games are those shitty flash games on Newgrounds.com.
Yeah, I think I’d rather PAY $60 for this:

Than play this for free:

Good job on quoting an old post after which alot of valid points were made, which you’re now completely ignoring.
As has been said, the companies won’t lose money if I wasn’t planning on buying it in the first place, even if there was no such thing as pirating.
In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if pirating actually helps games make more money. It becomes more accesible, which gets more people that like it to tell their friends about it, or advertise it. I’m sure I’ve caused plenty of people to buy games that I downloaded.
I’d rather pay nothing for this

What valid points? This argument ended on the first page.
Buying Games>Piracy
Now you’re just being plain ignorant.
You’re basicaly saying; “Everything I say is true and nobody can convince me otherwise!”
Then why bother joining this argument in the first place?
How am I being ignorant? Stealing is fucking stealing! You’re stealing, and thus, you suck!
You’re being ignorant by ignoring everything that’s been said.
Hey kiddo, how about this.
Don’t like piracy? Don’t pirate. Simple as that. Who fucking CARES what other people do? Stop trying to act better than everybody else.
Can you honestly say that you’ve never stolen anything from anyone? I mean seriously, there are morals, and there is being stupidly devoted to a childish sense of right and wrong.
