Hello all,
currently I’m writing a tool to configure Skyrim more easily, so you don’t have to edit the *.ini files.
At the moment I’m planning the GUI.
So… what options do you wish?

Well, how much can be done with it?
I guess start with the basics: FOV, mouse acceleration, v-sync, advanced graphical settings.
Can you do a quick mock-up of how do you plan it to look like, too?
Alright, the possible settings would be basically every option available in the ini.
This is how the GUI will look like:
Looks good but how do you plan on doing the preview image thing?
well, if you change a setting like AA, then a premade screenshot with this setting applied will be displayed.
Looks pretty cool. Just please spell “Controls” correctly.
That’s a lot of screenshots.
Hope to be using that tool soon! :3
oh, thanks, fixed it.
yeah, but I think that won’t be a problem at all.
Taking all these screenshots will take some time I guess, maybe the first version won’t include them.
Hey, is it possible to change the x and y sensitivities of the mouse through the .ini?
yep, I guess you want an option to sync them?
Nice job, something to edit Skyrim with a UI would be nice to have.
That would be great.
quick update:
this is how the first tab looks like.
It already loads and saves the settings, took me a while to do this due to some difficulties how QSettings writes ini files.(e.g. replaces whitespaces with %20)
The picture loading is also working already.(Qt is very nice for stuff like that)
Still need some suggestions what options to put in and also what predefined resolutions to add.
Open skyrim and just jot down the ones it gives you? they’re only the predefined ones anyway, you have custom
This may sound dumb, but aren’t these settings already available to change via the launcher or inside the game?
Only some of them.
most of the option on the first settings are available in the default config tool, indeed, but the options on the shadow tab for example aren’t there, like shadow blur amount, filter quality and shadowmap resolution etc.
can you make it so that the mouse sensitivity can be higher then it currently can?
disable mouse acceleration
How about stereo sound control. Skyrim doesn’t have a headphones option. it’s really frustrating that i can’t play when my girlfriend is asleep. With headphones, i get back channel audio, but no center channel. So if i’m looking directly at someone’s who’s talking, i can’t hear them, but if i turn my head a little to either side, i get dialogue in just one ear.
Also, can you set up custom key mapping for commands like screenshot, grass toggle (TG) , god mode toggle (TGM), noclip toggle (TCL), freeflying camera toggle (TFC), as well as any other graphic effect toggles?
