Yes. The original drive stopped working a few years ago so I decided to make it an external dvd-r drive instead. Too bad it’s so bulky … I don’t have any room on my desk for it.
You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who had many original games for it, the whole reason to have one was copied games and software.

I think that goes for many of the comps…I have maybe 5% original tapes/discs for any of my comps. I found this a couple of years back : https://baze.au.com/divide/ and it works great for all my Spectrums (48k, Spectrum+, +2, +3) Nowadays there are websites, for example https://www.tzxvault.org/ that make digital images of the games that were on cassettes just to try to preserve them before all original tapes go bad. The images can be downloaded to a CF card and with the divIDE interface you can use your old comp to play. Loading times are practically ZERO. But one of the nostalgic traits of the Speccy is just to watch the bars flashing on the screen while loading from tape and waiting to see if the damn game actually would start or just tilt at the very last moment

EDIT: My mistake, I have 2 different divIDE [COLOR=‘Red’]Plus interfaces, one with the “thru connector” and one without. but they are basically the same.
