I would buy the Source edition though. I don’t know about you all, but playing HL in the source source engine is much better than playing in the original engine. (Just slightly better all around, and much better graphics IMO)

If you already have a Source game I’d say get the original. There’s really no point in getting the Source version now that this mod is coming out. Besides it lets you experience it in its original glory.

i bought the source version at the time because i had seen freemans mind using hl1 source but now i want to experience it the original way for nostalgia

2 words: goldsource mods

99% of all goldsource mods (I would lay odds that there are at least as many goldsource mods worth playing as there are source mods worth playing) require HL1 and definitely wont work if you only have HL: S. They Hunger, USS Darkstar, Sweet Half Life, Point of View, Decay, and The Trap are some of the most fun mods I’ve played PERIOD. If HL1 is on sale to ANY extent, you should get it.

dang. The deal is already over. I’m sure Valve will come out with some excuse to put HL1 back on sale within the next year though.
