should i buy original hl?

Black Mesa will not give you access to any goldsource mods.

So:

Buying Half-Life 1: YES! it’s a milestone in gaming (in my opinion then  )

2: Playing BM: YES! It’s a great project, with better graphics than when HL was released, so it’s a must!

3: Viewing BM as the perfect HL1 replacement: NO! It might be exactly the same, maybe with better scenes, better graphics etc… But the atmosphere the game had t that time can’t be replaced. I’ll keep saying this, the graphics made the game what it was, even though they’re like crappy now, if you compare it to HL 2.

I swept up Half-Life Anthology over the weekend for $6.50.

I played Half-Life: Source on a friend’s PC, and I like HL Original much more than I do the Source version. It was probably the lack of autosave (which may have been in Source, but it wasn’t set up by default) that boosted my interest in the original, since they aren’t much different.

Wait, going back to GordonFreemanShepherdBreenVanceCalhounCubbageMossmanKleinerWilsonMagnessonExcetera’s comment, doesn’t nostalgia require that you played it as a kid?

wel i think nostalgia could mean that it could give you a feeling of good oldness regardless of if you played it as a kid

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
