Secondary functions for weapons

You’d be surprised.

Did he mean “drool all over ourselves” or “drew (as in draw) all over ourselves”?

haha ooops, yes I meant drool lol

Fong?

Lolled. So hard.

i meant any gunshot, NOT the crossbow dammit!

I’d be ashamed of my lapse of logic, but Grievous made it so worth it.

I just want the secondary fire on the glock to stay in the game, I used it at important key points. (I have the CD version) I also want to be able to have the removed gluon gun “Narrow” fire where it would deal half damage and consume less ammo. The script for that is in the original game but it was disabled.

Too bad neither of them will be in Black Mesa.

^ This.

As for the crossbow/.357 debate, if you’re so convinced the .357 makes the crossbow redundant Acumen, let’s drop you in a pool of water with two icthyosaurs and the .357 and see what happens.

Does no-one even remember how the weapon was introduced into the game?

I just swim to the surface and shoot them from there.

Except the ichy is programmed to hide below the water when your not fully submerged ( with the fog you cant see him ).

Shit, there goes my old Half Life: Source strategy. Now how am I gonna expend 100 glock rounds on one enemy?

It’s not going to seem right if all you have to do is stay on the surface of the water in order to keep them from attacking you. I would think you should only have them do that if they’ve taken some damage already.

I don’t exactly understand the ostensive purpose of only replicating game mechanics that correlate with Half Life 1 or 2 or MP or SP. It should be about quality of idea, not neglegible due to correlation with MP or SP.

Welp, guess you will have to wait and find out

I like the CS-like secondary firemode of the glock. the rapid fire mode was very similar to the mp5.

Exactly why it was removed.

HUGE HINT: Secondary abilities exist to give unique but balanced functions for certain weapons. They do not exist to replace other weapons entirely or make one overpowered.

egh, zoom for Magnum? Come on, it’s so accurate and powerful anyway you can easily hit even far-away stuff unless you’re playing on like 600x400 resolution.

Anyway, I really hate crossbows and shit in the HL series. I mean seriously whose idea was that? Who even uses crossbows anymore? Even tagging and tranqing animals is done with dartguns, and sniper rifles obviously do exist. Honestly, I don’t see a rusty old crossbow shooting a red-hot piece of rebar with no aerodynamic properties whatsoever as being accurate in any sense of the word. And I imagine keeping heavily irradiated pieces of metal (how else do they stay redhot FOREVER?) in your pocket would be a bit uncomfortable.

Note: I’m not asking or hoping BM replaces the crossbow with an actual sniper rifle, I’m pining that Valve did it in the first place. Hopefully there’ll be a mod to replace the crossbow with the sniper rifle made not long after BM release.
