nice thread OP, too bad you have to choose a side, you either care about what happens to animals or you don’t. It’s not an excuse to be on both sides of the argument to avoid being flamed by either side.

They should do a futuristic cyberpunk remake of Chicken Run where they all get fucked up like in that video. Mel Gibson will play the old scottish rooster as an homage.

Ever since Quake 4 I’ve wondered why we can’t do with farm animals what the strogg do with humans. Take one cow, keep its torso alive with machinery, have it regenerate harvested meat and stuff

I saw once on the Discovery Channel about a lion chasing a group of gazelle. It lunged at one of the gazelle, and bit into the neck. The gazelle howled in pain and terror as the lion ripped it to bloody shreds and it died as the lion ate it.

That said, factory farming should be outlawed.

Human beings are omnivores, capable of digesting both meat and plants. I don’t see a problem eating meat, to be honest. However, torturing the meat stock just isn’t necessary.

It’s not exactly protocol to hulk out on the animals. The workers probably can’t afford video games and so they get quad damage powerups in the form of minimum wage. Who is to say that these creatures are not simply players in the game of life!

EDIT: By creatures I mean the livestock, not the workers. They am human and they need to be loved, just like anybody else does.

where meat has to be mass produced to deal with the amount we want to consume, unfortunately animals will inevitably will be killed inhumainly by some.

luckily for the most part there are laws to prevent animal slaughter such as shown in the above video. in the UK there are extremely strict rules governing the housing and slaughtering of animals with extreme repercussions for those breaking the law.

for how animal slaughter should be (and for the most part is) carried out watch “kill it, cook it, eat it”.

Not for the weak stomached but it is eye opening to say the least.

Anyway, call it double standards, but I despise animal cruelty on pets or other animals that aren’t specifically bred for mass consumption. On the other hand, I don’t have any problems with the way farm animals are treated. Not like they have much of a life anyway, death looks like a relief to them.

I’d rather the animals I will eventually eat to be happy prior to slaughter, to be honest. Free range, and all that jazz. I very much oppose factory farming. And free-range tastes much better and is better for you.

Sad that such complex things are treated like toilet paper. More sad that most of the meat gets into the garbage bin after we bought it. Even more sad that there are too many fat people who consume too much meat. Most sadness is that there are children out there starving to death.

KK: Man has to eat. Like I said, man is an omnivore (if you’d like, he was “created” that way). He can eat plants as well as meat. And I enjoy the taste of meat.
