Don’t dl Radiator!!!1
Also, Dear Esther was actually a pretty good mod, just not enough dialog and scenery for the small amount of monologue.
Stop fuckin’ telling people not to download it, you’re like to only one too dumb to appreciate it.
Edit: Also
[i]"Um, yeah, I’m totally not going to be done by August. Probably September.
Is it me or does the “Keep Private and Don’t Put on the ModDB Main Page” checkbox not work?
So I’ve had numerous false starts with 1-3 as I keep re-designing the submarine. I have the concept down and a rough idea of what to do, but I’m trying to strike the right balance between simplicity and complexity. Let me explain:
The floorplan of a submarine… isn’t very complicated in real-life. Since space is at such a premium underwater, everything is crammed into small claustrophobic narrow hallways.
An interesting exploration-type level though, is supposed to be complicated. Open floor plans allow different combinations of interactions, and more rooms = better.
Now, I’m trying to reconcile all these goals - have it “feel” like a claustrophobic submarine, yet make it complex enough to explore, yet keep it simple / elegant enough to learn quickly… YET straightforward enough for an NPC to wander freely and surprise the player. I’ve probably thrown out 4-5 different submarine floorplans after testing them in-game and deciding they’re not what I want because they don’t accomplish one or more of these goals.
So while I draw up another floorplan, I’m trying to work on stuff I know I’ll definitely use no matter what, and I won’t throw out. Since ModDB requires me to include an image with a news post… well, here it goes - Here’s how Emily Dickinson is shaping up, right about now:

From ModDB
yeah? well I don’t really like you
What’s the mod about?
The short story, play, and poem. First loves. California. Psychological repression. New Orleans. The racket that is couples counseling. Being young, being old. Gay marriage. Homeostasis. Government bureaucracy. Acoustic guitar, contemporary piano, and death metal.
Sounds a bit out there. Oh well, I’m not homophobic or anything, especially to the point of these assholes who are like “Lol it has teh faggots lol it sux0rs!!!111!!!oneone”, I’ll give it a try.
I have absolutely no problem with the fact that this game has to do with gays, one of my best friends is gay. I just felt, and many others agree, that this game had zero action and interesting material. The crate scene was especially irritating and boring, as I kept wanting to put that last crate in L3, but every single time it broke and the entire time that was going on the stupid marriage counselor kept looping the same conversation over and over and over.
death metal? I’m in
just waiting for the next super deal on the orange box on steam
I don’t even remember death metal being involved, that must of been a fabrication on fire’s part or just a really small detail.
I don’t know why but every post you make makes you look more and more like a fucking moron.
Then where the fuck was the death metal?
1-3
There is no death metal involved in any of the released sections of the mod. and ps, the Emily Dickons ghost looks absolutely awful, she’s a fucking light bulb with a head.
I lol’d.
That’s exactly what I said.
“well, here it goes - Here’s how Emily Dickinson is shaping up, right about now:”
lrn2fuckinread
She shouldn’t be shaping up like a fucking light bulb! This is an awful picture, but this is what a ghost should look like.
Notice that the ghost is shaped like a fucking human, transparent, not glowing, and surrounded by a transparent fog-like substance.
The author didn’t even apply any transparency to the ghost, he just made her glow.
Who are you to decide what a ghost should and shouldn’t look like?
I am stating my opinion, and what also happens to be the most popular opinion.
So you secretly asked everyone else on the boards what a ghost should looks like? I don’t think so. And your personal opinion is not popular opinion.
You never said anything along those lines.
@Topic: This is a fantastic mod, although way to short. The second chapter was very interesting, taking place inside James’ brain. The platforming was rather creative, although it took me a while to figure out what you were supposed to do.
