Radiator Mod.

The orange box seemed to be a good deal, if only I’d known before I bought portal (which was a great game IMO)

Episode 2 is pretty fun, go and buy it and you’ll enjoy it along with all the mods that require it.

I would but I just ordered sims3 and pre-ordered wolfenstein last week so my games budget is a little low at the moment.

wolfenstein looks awesome! :awesome:

Do you even kill dudes in Radiator? All I saw was a shitty trailer on the moddb page with some dumbass staring at the stars.

No you don’t.

a shame, because I love blowing peoples brains all over the wall with the shotgun

but still, there’s always HL2…

Just played it. Eh, it was alright…

I like the fact that it’s different, it just wasn’t all that fun, and the psychologist/counselor got really annoying (even though that was probably what she was supposed to do). Pretty creative though, I’ll keep gettin them as they come.

I have to look up a video of this.

Waste. Of. Time.

Why?

Let’s imagine someone who was completely ignorant to anything psychologically interesting and awakening. Thats you. Honestly if all you like is shooters, go play them. It’s SUPPOSED to be different and just because it doesn’t get to you on a certain level doesn’t mean it won’t for other people. It’s a very good mod in the sense of how it interacts with people because it takes a scenario people can relate to and then puts a spin on it, so you see different viewpoints. You probably don’t appreciate that though. I doubt you’d like Dear Esther either, despite the fact that thats an amazing mod.

It didn’t really go anywhere. The first one, with the stargazing, I thought was cool at first because I thought you would have to use the stars to find your way through some kind of quest/mission. But it just ended after that.

I was hoping the second one would have been a little better but again, it didn’t go anywhere. There wasn’t any puzzles to solve, no quest/missions to do, it was rather boring IMO. Yes I do realize people are different and some people think it was really cool or awesome. I just found it boring and pointless.

I guess you didn’t figure out that when he left you had to use the stars to find him guess what direction you had to go :3

That’s what I mean by it didn’t go anywhere. I found him and then it was over.

Yes, it would have been neat if the map were larger than that single clearing. But the premise was still really great.

Oh my God…

I just played Research and Development… It is unbelievable :awesome:!!! The destruction, the clever puzzles, the graphics… I don’t think I could describe the awesome. The quality of this mod rivals the quality of HL2 EP2 (even though some moments and puzzles were lifted straight from the other half life games, even half life 1, which isn’t bad considering how well it was done)…

Everyone must play this… I’m in awe…

EDIT: Also, about the radiator mod and why it’s not that great… It’s not that it lacks action, it’s just not very deep in terms of gameplay, (while being a game). The first one might as well have been a short story (and it wouldn’t have been a very good one if it was). The second one was a bit more clever, and made better use of the fact that it’s a game, but it was repetitive, awkward, and not very fun. It just felt like the game was trying to be Braid, by having the gameplay strongly connect with the theme, but failing and being a little pretentious. It was a great try though, and if it continues to improve, I’m sure it’ll be worth playing.

This is the thread about Radiator. Not research and Development. Here is the Research and Development thread.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Mine happens to be that this is a boring mod, yours is that it was good. I’m just suggesting from my experience that people not bother playing. We disagree, now get over it. And I will dl Dear Esther just to see what it is.

EDIT: A few things I’d like to add. Yes I enjoy shooters, I think they are art. why does something have to be purely emotion to be art? Call of Juarez 2 is art, emotional, visual and even action wise. Half-Life 2 and the Episodes are art. F.E.A.R. Project Origin is art. Shooters are art, they are just a different type than the bland emotion art you enjoy. Besides, games like Call of Juarez have far far BETTER emotional art than Radiator. Just watch the emotional climax of the game: spoilerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O7ueMFIzG8spoiler Watch til around 3:50.

Off topic post? What off topic post? =P

I’ve bought EP1 and EP2 because of the 66% off deal! I’ve played through and finished them both on hard!

(EP1 took me 5 1/2 hours, EP2 took me 6)

anyway I finished them both today and because they were so awesome I’m going to get R&D :awesome:
