It helps that I’m primarily a Wii fan as far as consoles go. I love the potential that the motion controls have, even if 3rd parties have completely dropped the ball on that respect. Nintendo hasn’t exactly been blowing my mind over the past year either, but the potential is still there.
Has anyone realised that this thread has no point to existing? Both are great consoles.

Seeing as how the whole point of the thread is to compare the relative strengths and weaknesses of the two consoles to each other, the statement that they are both great consoles actually strengthens teh point of this thread.
It only wouldn’t serve any purpose if you either had a clear victor (PS2 vs N-Gage) or if there is no practical difference between the two at all (PS2 slim vs White PS2 Slim)
If you want to call into question the purpose of a PC oriented community having a thread about consoles, then you might as well question the entire existence of these forums. It’s the Technology and Gaming section, not the PC gaming section.

blu-ray disks hold a lot more information on the disks, up to 50GB on the single layer, and 100GB on the dual
hd-dvd’s only hold up to 15GB on the single layer, and up to 30GB on the dual layer.

I own all the consoles original PS3,Wii, the new black 360,and all the vintage consoles and just like everbody says the pc is and always will be the best for kickin ass on the virtual battlefield

all i gotta say is better cooling system= no overheating=no chipset malfuntions or solder melting causing the chip to move out of place of origin and no connections to be established.
unless you come across one of the dumba**es that like to put electronics in hot and or confined places.
But why, I keep my xbox in my drawer. it works more efficiently that way.
But srsly, yeah, I’ve opened my xbox before, besides the horrible metal enclosure (similar material and feel of glazed steel lampposts very rough) the heat sink is al-right, but it has no fan on it (both GPU and CPU), the only fans in the case at the rear expel air there, if the heat sink design was changed, and you added a fan or 4? maybe some 40mills or something, you probably wouldn’t get any heating issues.

Exactly! I’d love to do that but I’d like to keep my warranty and I don’t like to spend a lot of money on a click on system.
The downer about 360 is that as soon as you buy one you might as well put up a gigantic sign on your back with a gigantic arrow pointing down with the words “Right there Microsoft” because that’s what’s going to happen whether you want to or not.
Once I bought my XBOX and danced around with it proudly I was screwed. No more space on my hard-drive. €60
Than a friend wanted to play with me but I didn’t have another controller. €45
Than I found out that in order to have HDMI visuals and analogue sound I needed a special Microsoft Xbox 360 Cable ©. €50
After that I was alright for quite a while. Until I moved my xbox 360 to my apartment and needed wireless network. €80
Than I found out you can chat with your xbox360 controller keyboard©. €35
Than I needed a headset for cool streamlined gaming. €45
After all the rocky starts I was finally ready to really play some games. Than I realized that I had already payed €200 in online costs.
So lets recap here. Excluding the XBOX I have payed a total whopping €515,- which I could have used to buy a frigging monster PC which kicks the ass of XBOX any time of the day.
Now for the PS3: I get all that shit for free. Except for the headset. I still need to pay for those. I could’ve saved €315 if I hadn’t bought that frigging Xbox 360.
In short: In the end the PS3 is cheaper, stronger, better looking, cooler and less frustrating. I still kick myself because of it every day.
