LG succeeded in getting Europe to ban all import of new PS3 consoles based on a copyright infringement regarding blu-ray. This will be for a minimum of 10 days, possibly longer.
Sony earlier tried to ban any new LG phone to be imported in the US, but lost that case. LG then successfully counterattacked and hit Sony harder than ever.

I don’t really know if Sony is selling PS3’s fast enough for this to make any kind of significant difference. First month or so, real bitch! Now, I doubt many people care.
It makes a nice change from companies just counter-suing each other and eventually settling by giving up the claims, like most tech involving similar products do (e.g. phones, microchips etc). Although 10 days isn’t much, I think it’s a nice gesture by the judge to show the big companies (who are so tough on piracy) that intellectual piracy of any sort is wrong, and that the courts can hit them where it hurts. If this goes on longer, I can see this really hurting Sony if there’s a rush to buy the remaining stock, which leaves very little on the shelves.
