Hmmm well I have googled it and can find no one with the detector on the board failing… not even the Dell forums come up… worse case I’ll buy a new laptop. :wink:

I actually had one, tried 3 different adapters on it before selling it.

THREAD REVIVAL

Ok so like im off in Florida right now on spring break so I only have my laptop with me and after messing around with it last night I found out it had this feature called LightFX. Its something Dell put into their older XPS laptops b4 Alienware became their gaming division. So I messed around with it and I was able to get the LEDs to slowly change color and to glow. I also found out that they could flash and change color to the beat of music. Heres a vid of wut its looks like: (sorry for shitty quality, the droid doesnt have the best camera. the colors are alot brighter and vibrant in person)

I like the “also a computer”. Never tried building a rig with no case. :stuck_out_tongue:

Alienware isn’t their gaming division, it’s a wholly owned subsidiary. XPS is still their gaming computers, because my computer that I got for Christmas is an XPS.

It’s a couple of generations old, but it’s got 320 GB of storage, 2 GB of RAM, a nVidia 9400M, and a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo processor. The monitor’s 19 inches, and the stereo’s set up so I can it can be a monitor for recording music, or play music from my computer, the stereo itself, or my record player (which isn’t in the shot). It’s quite handy.

How much did that MacMini cost? (after all the xtras like monitors)

The Mini itself was refurbished, for about $500. The monitor was $120. The keyboard was $50. The mouse was free. So, roughly $670.

If I can get a camera, I will post mine :wink:

Why would you pay 50 bucks for the worst keyboard you could possibly buy… I don’t understand people these days.

I didn’t pay for it. My Mom bought it for me when she bought the Mac itself ('twas a Christmas gift). Also, my Windows keyboard I had didn’t allow me to boot into Windows on my Mac (which I installed for gaming and music writing purposes)

It [COLOR=‘Red’]seems high priced dells seem to do well, in the day my dad had a custom order built by dell a Dimension, which model i cannot remember, seemed to do well, until, thank god he had full insurance after dell come to my house and replaced the Motherboard THREE times. So that made me slighly skeptical, ive recently bought a custom studio xps 8100 (look down) seems to be solid, will over the year buy a new case, and most likely start my own custom pc buying a new motherboard transferring ram HDD etc. :frowning:

I too have a Dell Studio XPS. Mine’s an 8000, though, not an 8100. Still a very solid computer. I love mine.

Previous;

Common mistake many people are making not realizing there are not 8 usb the 2 hidden ones.

Xps;

Anything different about the 8000 and 8100 besides the immediate and unexplainable discontinuation of the 8000’s different internal placement etc, i wouldnt mind seeing some internal shots of your system

Could you try making some sense, Mango Assassin?

Models : 8000/8100

Difference please?
8000 discontinued by dell
Reason: Unexplained.

8100 Same case, virtually same computer
Why? and i want to see photographs of the inside of his tower to see if there is a difference. in build, 8100 may have a slightly updated motherboard etc.

Cath my drift? :retard:

There are inside pics earlier in the thread. We have almost literally the same specs, except I have 8 GB of RAM, as opposted to your 6, my HD is only 640 GB, and I have a 512 MB 9800 GT, whereas your GTS 240 is a rebranded 9800.
