Post your 'puter

:facepalm:My god… I did double post
And about how i got 1.5 Tb for less than $100, I was on tiger direct, I had a bulk order over $1,000 so i got a 75% discount for the next item that i bought, so i went and got 2 gb of ram and my one Tb drive. i had 500 Gb already in my other computer, so i just combined the two computers.

That was my sign 2 years ago, I’ve replaced it with

Idk, that wuz b4 my new mobo so I only had 2 x16 2.0 slots then and both were occupied by my 4890s and I didn’t feel like taken them out and installing nvidias drivers only to take it out and sell it. I regret selling it tho cause now that I have 3 x16 2.0 slots I coulda used it as a physx card, but it prolly wouldnt have been much better for physx than the 8800gt thats in the 3rd slot atm. Im thinkin about selling that cause physX is pretty much useless and its mad loud.

I’m still using an 8800GT as my primary card. :stuck_out_tongue:

The clock settings are fucked up since im using modded drivers to get it working with ATi as the primary cards so its always on its high power 3d settings, which causes it to heat up even when im idling so its fans are always on max, and when I try to lower it in riva turner it causes the nvidia drivers to reset putting it back to full 3d clocks. The few games that actually use GPU PhysX have nice fx, but its not spectacular and ive seen games with better fx that dont use PhysX.

the z in rulez makes it cool

I stole that poster from HMV, that makes it cool.

You can never have enough memory! - its very similar to beer - too much is never enough.

It was on special I seem to remember… EVGA said their mobo would support it and 64bit Win7 says 8Gb… not 8GB - 3.5Gb used as it does with some hardware… machine does fly, SSD would be nice but my wallet could only stretch to velociraptor at the time.

Manufacturer: Gateway
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50Ghz 2.50Ghz
Memory: 6 gigs
64 bit OS with Vista home premium service pack 2
12 gigs virtual memory
Graphics card is a GeForce 9800 GT
Not sure about my monitor. Whatever came with the CPU.
I have to speakers, but I’m not sure about those either. Mainly because I use headphones. My head is unusually large, so I just pick up a cheap 20$ headphone from mall-wart every 6 months or so.
My mouse is a Logitech LX8 Cordless laser mouse.
I’m also down to 192 gigs in my /c/ drive. :frowning:
May have to clear it out soon.

Hawtness.

:jizz:
I WANTS!
:’(

You’re lucky you don’t have one, trust me, I’ve used many laptops including that one.

What’s the best laptop?
I want one.
My family’s been trying to convince me to go see this new program called “real life”.
So far, all I can tell is that it has poor graphics, crappy lighting, and awful A.I.

the bestest ever will always be sony vaio, but asus, lenovo and toshiba are also perfectly good manufacturers, stay away from dell(aka alienware), acer(aka gateway) and hp (aka compaq)

I <3 my gigantic 1GB 8800

high five!

My card rules because it survived nvidia’s faulty drivers because the asus version doesn’t have automatic fan control.

Macbooks are built solid. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I’m not sure why everyone praises mac book build quality. I’m not saying there crap, but there nothing special. My good friends mac had a bad screen/video card that would get pink bands after 3 minutes of running. Also my one of my brothers had a super drive fail. Also BOTH of them had hell when sending there laptop in to mac support. When apple received my brothers mac they “decided” that his hardrive was broken and that they should throw it out without consulting the owner. He lost all of his personal files. Also my friends mac. He had to use it in pink mode for 3 months because he needed it for class. When he finally got a break and he sent it in, apple delayed twice, and when it was almost a month past when he needed it back he finally got thru to the top at apple they said that they lost his mac.

Had my Dell XPS for a couple of years now and its bullet proof… its been round europe in planes, lobed in boots of cars, dropped, button banged off when I’m in a hurry, left on for days/weeks at a time but still has more than enough grunt to play fallout and Bioshock on high and connects to every display you can shake a stick at… cant fault it. there are horror stories for every brand… my sister Sony is a DOG!

Do you know that if you use a power adapter not made by dell (same voltage and amperage) the laptop’s bios will run the CPU at 1ghz and will refuse to charge the battery? Ok, many dell users are okay with this.

Did you know the same thing will happen if you break the 3rd pin on the adapter? Which means it’s not a feature but a crippling bug added on purpose. Every other laptop manufacturer (except apple) only has 2 pins + and _ on their adapters.

Did you know that if pin 3(data) and pin 1 or 2 short (which is likely to happen after the wire is old) the laptop’s internal “legit charger” sensor can get damaged and after that no matter what adapter you use, you won’t be able to charge the battery or run the CPU at it’s normal speed, even though there is no hardware fault inside the laptop, dell will just make you buy new chargers until you realize it’s time to move on and buy a new motherboard from ebay.
