Post your 'puter

I am so happy today. I got my first check for my first paying voice acting gig and I spent it frivolusly… on a new monitor.

The first thing I watched (with my children huddled around me) was our latest black mesa trailer (happy tear in her eye) gawd I am such a geek!

Here is my updated specs.

You’re the coolest lady I know, Catz.

^agreed.
(She reminds me of my mom, except my mom is running GNOME with a three monitor wrap-around-head setup)
New computer:

It’s got a Callisto dual core at 3.2 Ghz, two sticks of 2GB DDR2 memory, and this beast:

And five fans.

:fffuuu:

wishes my mum was that cool

It’s kind of scary sometimes; the chair leans back and it looks as though she’s in the Matrix. I have to poke her sometimes just to make sure. :expressionless:

You made me lol.

Glad to see you have a new monitor Catzeyes, and congrats on the paying voice acting!

My two old ATI 4850s:

and yet you are too poor for doors on your closet? BAH HA HA HA ahhhahahahaha!!!

That wrap around monitor thing your mom is enjoying seems rather kewl. Do ya think she would sit still for a pic for us? =-D

I forgot to close the door.

Very nice PC, love that case and keyboard…how big is that fan in the top of the case, it looks huge?

And if you were looking for your pen, its under the desk

Just got a new laptop. Gift from my parents to take me through college.

Specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz
nVidia Geforce GT 120M with 1 gig memory
4 gigs ram
16" screen
Vista Premium (planning to upgrade to windows 7)

Its not the most cutting edge computer out there, but I think I did nicely for my budget (around $600). Should carry me through at least the next few years

Yeah my laptop is a

Atom 1.6Ghz
Intel GMA 950
1GB RAM
8" Screen
Ubuntu (because I broke my hard drive and am running from SD card)
I paid 400$+tax for it.

My secondary laptop is a

T7600 2.33Ghz
Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M
2GB DDR2
15" Screen
Ubuntu (I broke the hard drive on this one also)
I paid 100$ cash for it.

eternalness I have the same case and I love it’s cooling abilities.

Finished my upgrade (finally got my RAM).
i5 750, 2.66 ghz (running very cool, I’m defs overclocking right away)
MSi P55-GD65 (it has a button to overclock right on it)
Nvidia Geforce 285 2 GB
Integrated sound
About 2 TB of HDD space
4 GB DDR3 1600 RAM

Only thing holding my system back now is the hard drive speed, so I’ll probably pick up a small faster -ish thing in the range of 7200 RPM, but those velociraptors are pretty tempting…

I’m running on a Sager NP9280 laptop, specs as follows:

Core i7 950, 3.06gHz
6GB DDR3
nVidia GTX 280M w/1GB
3 SATA drives with 500GB each, eSATA connector to allow for moar
17’ glossy WUXGA display (1900x1200)

Also has some nice extras like an integrated card reader, HDMI and DVI outputs, and a built in webcam which is awesome for Skype. A solid desktop replacement, but exactly that…my laptop bag when full weighs about 25 pounds.

Sounds like an awesome laptop TBH, I like laptops of all sizes.

My laptop as some of you already know is a MacCrap, I mean, Macbook. It can play Crysis so it’s powerful enough but it has DirectX issues so DirectX games crash every hour or less. I’m currently having a computer built for me that is going to be like Eternalness’ setup except for a few changes. Then I’ll have Windows 7 and no DirectX issues. It will be like going from mental purgatory to mental heaven.

Another ex-macfag who saw the light.

:’( <- Tears of joy.
