Post here your best fighting moments in HL series

So:
there was this scene (I don’t remember the level). Gordon is on a elevator, but, because of an explosion somewhere, the machine stops, creating some sort of a small ladder. Gordon kills soldiers and enters is some sort of bunker that gets it’s entrance closed by debris.
That was only to try to let you remember the scene I was talking.
So, I don’t know how, but I managed to kill 4 or 5 soldiers, one of them getting killed with a final crowbar attack, and arrived at this “bunker” entrance, climbed down the stairs and I DON’T GOT ANY DAMAGE!!!

I can promise you that this was my least favorite moment:

Small corridors + trigger-happy, GL-armed commandos = :’(

This should be moved to the “HL Series” subforum.

now, the thread is moved.
So, what was your best fighting momment, Dillxn?

the dam.

i rushed onto it the first time, got bombarded by the chopper, ran back for cover, then long-jumped into the fucking water. Bad idea.

LOL. I remember one of the first times i played the dam. I knew that there was water on the right side so i jumped off to the left side. Stupid idea, but i got a laugh from the surprise.

During the episode 2 village ambush, I was really low on ammo and killed all three hunters and half of the initial wave of combine with the grav gun. One kill was a hunter and a solider combo with a fuel tank hail mary

[COLOR=‘Red’]Posted in completely the wrong place, moved.

My favorite moment was one or the various times I went to the dam. I used the Tau Cannon to blow up the Helicopter just as it was over the water. The Icthyosaur was apparently at just the right place to get gibbed by the helicopter as it fell into the water. Happy times

I loved the part in the Lambda core, where you’re going to turn on one of the flood tanks (or… whatever those things are called… generators?) and AGrunts pretty much fill the room with all the catwalks in it.

Had to do some strategic hopping to get out of that one. :freeman:

The entire Breach sequence in Ep2, where the combine infiltrates the rocket facility. On hard mode, i executed a very efficient, almost graceful counter-attack using the gravity gun primarily, while taking minimal damage.

Hmm…
I have no idea. Maybe getting squashed by a crashing gunship.

I was fighting some Combine Soldiers with my Vort buddy, and I managed to set of a chain reaction with my Mp7 grenades that destroyed 3 APCs, squashed all the normal soldiers, and killed an elite just as he was about to launch his altfire orb.
Wait, ingame?
Uh… I dunno. Probably something involving a squad of hgrunts.

The Antlion invasion in Ep2 on Hard. Very Epic indeed, considering that I accidentally knocked over those turrets and couldn’t get them back up even with my grav gun, and I foolishly didn’t notice the Hopper mines.

The hopper mines only last half a wave for me unless I just place them on the ramp down to the vort, which works well for the final wave if you just fall back to the elevator shaft

nihilanth. not much i can say after that. all other fights arent as impressive as him. fucking bitch he was…

The thing that I hated the most but felt great to accomplish was the Combine ambush in Nova Prospekt where all you had were three turret guns and your regular arsenal. They just kept coming and it took Alyx forever and a day to get to you.

I was like, GODDAMMIT! STOP KNOCKING OVER MY TURRETS! > :frowning:

But it was still awesome and my heart was pounding afterwards. I wanted to kill Alyx right then in there.

When fighting along side with him

him

and

Guess who they are?

Wrong game. But I lol’d anyway

Going through Anticitizen One with an unbeatable team.

I had two black medics, a random female model armed with pulse rifles, and a Gordon Grohman model with a shotgun. My team was unbeatable. They survived the manhack assault, the zombie infested tenement and wave after wave of combine.

They lasted up until the final fight where Alyx has to shut down a generator. During the battle three members took a hit and were lost. I pressed on anyway, and to my jubilation one black medic made it through. Tragically though, a combine assisting in the capture of Alyx took a pot shot and killed my brave soldier. leaving me no choice but to press on…

I still remember those brave souls to this day. Lest we forget.
