Old news, Activision might do it I wouldn’t put it past them.
nooo! this is dumb!
Good thing Bad Company 2 is coming.
Fuck Activision. Let them rot in their greedy ideas.
Oh my hairy mother…
Future? More like the demise if you ask me
That Kotick is nothing but a money grabbing pissant. That’s the problem with these big gaming bosses, they don’t even play games themselves. All they see is a giant cash cow.
Unfortunately, publishers would have nothing to do with games if there was no money involved
I don’t play anything that has a subscription, I’ve even got a silver subscription to xbox live. It means bill gates metaphorically shits through my letterbox about once a week, but its pretty easy to go without
Its a good thing i dont play their shit, its not the future of gaming. Valve would never go that low. As sad as it may seem though, there WILL be people who will buy a subscription to play COD, them damn fanboys. Its sad that people already do it for WoW.
Valve will follow the same path over time, just wait for the original employees to leave or retire. Same thing happend to Infinity Ward.
This isn’t going to happen. About 75% of Call of Duty fans are XBox 360 owners, who have to pay for their online. Activision would be committing economic suicide if they did this.
Half the CoD fans I know would be pissed about it, but they would still fork out the cash for it. Thats what scares me.
Why can’t there be an industry where people don’t sell out?
Because if that existed, they wouldn’t make any money.
I highly doubt that, Valve is the ONLY industry I know that does updates for there games ALOT, for FREE (Team Fortress 2 (PC only), Left 4 Dead Survival mode) Had the Orange Box which contains 5 different games, 3 of them new for the price of one. And does their own funny little videos (Team Fortress 2’s Meet The videos). The only bad thing that Valve has done so far in their career was Half-Life Source.
PLUS! They are the only ones to CARE about their customers. Gabe Newell went to a college class full of deaf students, and took some tips on what they can improve to make the game more enjoyable for them.
Well, Valve negotiated with Microsoft to keep the updates to TF2 on the 360 free, but Microsoft refused. That’s why (apparently) updates are farther between, so that they release several at once to make up for the cost.
And I don’t see why people bash so HL:S so much. It’s not like Valve said that they were going to completely redo the game in the Source engine. Like someone else here said, it was just Valve proving that it would be extremely easy to import HL’s resources onto the engine.
I prefer Half-Life Source over HL1 any day
Especially with the HD pack.
Well, they did remake Half-Life in the Source Engine. They just didn’t update the textures or graphics :retard: .
And I couldn’t really care less about CoD online. I don’t really think it’s all that fun and I don’t feel like throwing money at Microsoft to be able to get online…
fix’d
There’s a difference between making a healthy profit and just fucking people over for a few extra bucks!
lol fixed?
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
