I’m still confused why the video lags. No one else has this problem.
One of the radios plays it.

There’s a couple radios still playing the song. See in the black for one of them:
[COLOR=‘Black’]In the “Advanced Aerial Faith Plates” test, when you push the button and garbage comes bouncing over the faith plates, a radio is in there. It is playing the “Still Alive” song.
IDK, It just feels kinda wrong when I know I’ve missed the shot yet the portal somehow jumps to that perfectly accurate spot in just the right angle.
There is basically just one setting named “Effects” or smth, which includes draw distance, motion blur, gel effects and god knows what else.
It is intrusive and utterly useless (at least in SP)
I don’t mean scaled health or something but small changes to the puzzles. Like the advanced chambers in Portal only a bit more subtle.
It’s mainly the audio, might be my ancient Sound Blaster. Meh, I’ll just watch the ending on youtube.
I never said it did.
Except for aspect ratio, resolution, anti-aliasing, ansiotropic filtering, texture and model detail, vertical sync, multicore rendering, and paged pool memory. There’s plenty of video options, they just didn’t bother to split up a few effects. I don’t see this as a real issue.
Have you ever tried putting deadmau5’s “ghosts n’ stuff” in the background?
Edit: To everyone that thinks some tests are difficult:
I ran through the game without getting stuck. The only time I didn’t know what to do was at the [COLOR=‘Black’]first portal gel test because there the solution is just ridiculously hard to see and I have found out that you can “complete” (getting the achievement and the “you are done”-sequence) that test without finishing it.
the only time I got stuck was when I spent an hour admiring the awesome map and texture design
and that time when you’re supposed to put gel into a beam and then reverse it then make it drop on 3 turrets that are behind a pane of glass
Literally the exact same thing happened to me, just there too. I hit the edge of the platform but not all the way up, and Cave started talking. I was like
No crouch jump was annoying but ultimately makes it easier, no good cheats was one thing that annoyed me, the only thing I managed to get working is the HEV flashlight, and then the game started crashing with the message “too many dynamic lights”
Also if the recorded cutscene was at least in proper frame rate, it would be much harder to notice. But the game runs at 60 frames per second all the way and then the ending cutscene starts and it’s 24/30fps because lol video
There is one other thing Valve managed to fix, the ability to stop your forward momentum in mid-air instantly by walking backward, which may have made jumping puzzles too much easier. I think deathrun will be fun with the new source engine.
Plus the per-object motion blur due to Source recorder. It looks better in that respect, but it makes it differ a good bit from the game.
exactly where i was stuck too
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
