After reading the scans, Chell was probably put in some sort of stasis chamber in order to not get in the way of the repairs being done on the facility and remain valuable to them at the same time maybe?
Who cares? Portal was just an experiment, and they didn’t want to dedicate a lot of resources to an experiment and so they recycled old stuff for them to work with. Portal 2 is very much going to be its own game with its own continuity. Valve doesn’t care about it whether both continuities agree. There will be winks and nods to each other no doubt, but in actuality, the Aperture Science of HL and the Aperture Science of Portal should be thought of as two separate entities. Aperture Science of HL was a plot device, and Aperture Science of portal is just Valve messing around. One should not see Portal and think Half-Life, nor should one see half-life and think portal. They each have their own completely separate identities now.
Actually, I think they are both more like Siamese twins, they are two people, but you still see them as one whole…
I don’t know, I’d prefer them to be fairly connected. Not in the sense of GlaDOS appearing in the Borealis and Gordon getting the Portal gun, but it’d be nice to see some continuity between them. Having them separate just seems a bit messy to me.
I would prefer to think of them as in the same universe at around the same time, in portal black mesa is mentioned and even in the still alive song (… maybe black mesa, that was a joke ha ha fat chance).
I hope shit like this happens in portal 2.
But it should be related… :FFFUUU:
Episode 2 shows the Borealis with Aperture Science crates. And Portal shows Powerpoint presentations talking about Black Mesa.
I wouldn’t mind Aperture Science not being mentioned in Episode 3, but the borealis technology belongs to Aperture Science.
Same goes for Portal, I wouldn’t mind if Black Mesa wasn’t mentioned.
But still, they are related and are in the same world.
Has there been a date set for portal 2 release?
Valve said in the ‘holidays’ so I expect before Christmas.
No, Valve said in the summer, and we translated that through Valve Time, so it’s the “Holidays.”
They never said in the summer. Moreover, in the GameInformer “fall” is mentioned.
“holiday season” means fourth quarter of 2010
Ahh… Now I see. :meh:
Or, in Valve time, second quarter of 2011
Nevermind. Youre just a human :3
I’d glad I’m an awesome (and deadly) fox B) :terror:
I wish it was summer 2010 but knowing valve time:

(This year’s) holiday season = Fall of next year
wat. :hmph:
