Portal 2 speculation...

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Anyway, I think Portal 2 may be set both in an outdoor environment and maybe a test chamber. Maybe you (as the main character) has to break out, this time (assuming you’re not Chell).

They have been getting better with the release dates. Look at Left 4 Dead 2 for instance.

Yeah but L4D2 wasn’t much different from number 1.

Except it was better and more awesome.

Even then you all seem to complain if a game that gets a sequel isn’t like the original or if it’s too much like the original and all that noise.

/Left 4 Dead 2 arguing mess

Portal2 sounds amazing! I wonder who is going to loose their job after the GI leak?

It is a Firefox silly!

Having said that we were told ep3 was coming Christmas '07, I’m predicting portal around September 2014, just after L4D 9:This time it’s personal.

EDIT: Just occurred to me Portal 2: This time it’s personnel. Oh how I laughed.

(I fully expect someone to say this time it’s Chell.)

Having ignored the last few walls of text preceding this and criminally being on topic, I’m gambling that Portal 2 will be isolated like the first, but end with a cryptic/epic cliffhanger that hypes up Ep 3 and catches up with the Portal 2 storyline at its own conclusion. Say Chell lies dying, sees a door being broken down, and in Ep 3’s finale Gordon barrels down the door and…yeah.

Then again, this is very wild speculation.

Which is not gonna happen, because we already know that Portal 2 is set hundrets of years after Portal 1.
No Gordan.

:rage:

SUCCESS :3

Same universe, hundreds of years in the future and you play as chell

Portal 2 is several hundred years in the future, so any direct links between the universes will be in minor glancing reference, most likely.

Ninja’d by an hour and 20 minutes, and all the other posts, even though I stared at said ninja post(s) and thoroughly read the thread for several minutes prior to posting.

Now to add my own wild speculation: Towards the end of portal 2, somethign happens and the portalgun malfunctions. Firing a portal randomly at a wall, your only choice is to go through. In fact, it has ripped more than the fabric of space, it has ripped through time. You die. THEN in EP3, we find your body. I’m just playin off that other guys speculation, but HAY, accidental time travel is the 3rd top way I’d like to die without planning. With planning, it’s number 2.

AND PLEASE IT"S GORDON! NOT GORDAN!

GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON GORDON

I find that wall of Gordon’s oddly hypnotic. Anybody else?

Only if you had spelled it with an A.

anyhoo, back to the topic…
The time frame suggests there will be no direct interaction between Portal and EP3 - at least I hope not. Time traveling just seems like it would be a cheesy way of connecting it all together. I also think there won’t be too many “outdoors” scenes - at least not like deep in the woods or anything too far from the facility. Besides, you’ll have to make your way back in for a showdown of some sorts, right?

It was already confirmed in Gameinformer that Portal 2 will take plays hundreds of years after the original Portal and after HL2. With that in mind, it is very unlikely that Gordon will be there as we don’t even know if he got put into stasis again or that he was never bothered by the G-man again, thus able to live his life after the battle with the Combine.

Edit: place, not plays…geez I got to stop making these typos :frowning:

I think GLaDOS and Chell would have spent the 100 years bonding and are sort of good friends.

ThAt wOuLd bE NiCe…

That would have been possible if GLaDOS wasn’t dead and Chell wasn’t put to sleep on some stasis chamber or something. :expressionless:

You misspelled Gordan :hmph:

You apparently didn’t hear the song at the end.

Also, GLaDOS apparently has backups of Chell somewhere (She says so during he final battle, saying she has records of Chell “in case something bad happens to you, which is about to”).

And the fact that in EP:2 they clearly talk about Aperture Science and their questionable ethics.

You guys are forgetting that it’s G-Man who is controlling where, and when, Gordon appears.

He could easily skip 200 years and teleport to the Borealis.

She also mentions deleting those backups permanently shortly after.
