Hey everyone I’m just about done with my new computer and I was
wondering which game I should go get - Crysis 2 or Portal 2?
Portal 2 looks pretty damn sweet but once I beat the game and coop it
doesn’t seem like there’s anything to do except play it over again… and even though many people are complaining about how much of a let down Crysis is I’m hoping there might be some replay value in thar.
Other than that I don’t really know what I should get.:mono:

Portal 2 first for sure, but I stand by my opinion that Crysis 2 is a damn good game – consolized or not. I’d get them both at some point.
If you’re wanting to show off your computer’s abilities get Crysis 2. If you want the best game get Portal 2.
Get Crysis 2, it is a damn good action game and I feel it stood firm as a sequel, it gives a lot more depth to the original story of Crysis 1 and actually makes it seem like it was more than a generic meet-aliens-on-island story. Similar to how Half-Life 2 built upon Half-Life 1’s B-movie story. Plus the nanosuit adds replay value.

I actually went with Crysis 2. I’ve recently been avoiding games that I haven’t been able to try for myself. I played Crysis 2 at GDC and PAX, so I knew it was decent. I have yet to see any selling points for Portal 2 that make me want it, plus it is just a linear one-time adventure. Crysis 2 has been fun so far, and while the multiplayer is more lasting than Crysis 1, it’s still not superb. The main campaign has some replayability, and you can select an individual mission to rerun.
Heres a selling point for Portal 2: Its awesome with awesome gameplay, awesome dialogue, awesome environments, and awesome quantities of the word awesome in descriptions of it.

Portal 2 is funny and enjoyable but once you play it through once thats it.
Id buy Crysis because besides the campaign which is pretty fun, the multiplayer is great, and theres tons of replay value there. The only thing is that Crysis 2 is better on an Xbox. So if you have an Xbox you should buy Crysis 2 for xbox and portal 2 for PC.

Portal 2 was a yawner, just a re-hash of Portal with added frills and gimmicks
on a related note, I wish Steam would let you gift games from your library, even if they charged 10% of retail or something, I’d pay 5 bucks to gift my Portal 2 and stop someone else from buying it
