Portal 2 or Crysis 2

Yeah, it’s better on Xbox except it runs better looks better and plays better on PC. Other than that, it’s great on Xbox.

Get Portal 2.

In what way was Portal 2 a re-hash? Sure, the original gameplay mechanics remained intact, but that’s the same of almost any sequel ever made. It’s got added gameplay mechanics such as the 4 gel types, the lasers, the tractor beam things, the bridges and the lens blocks, as well as the different environments, added co-op, and new cast of memorable characters that makes Portal 2 completely stand out from the original. The original was simply a prototype for what the portal based gameplay could bring to the table. Portal 2 is the fully realized game that was born from that.

This^ Actually, there isn’t a single thing the X-Box version does better than the PC version. Even Crytek stated that the PC version is superior in every way.

Crysis 2:

Pros:
-Great Weapons
-Great Graphics
-Great Design

Cons:
-Enemy AI
-Glitches
-Story

Portal 2

Pros:
-Story
-Characters

Cons:
-Tests become tedious
-Test areas look bland
-Only one gun

Someone has made sense in these forums.

Wow. That’s impressive. I wonder how big is that cock stuck up in your butt?

I lol’d.

Let me try

Crysis 2

Pro:

  • Good graphics, run smoothly on older systems
  • Good soundtrack
  • Much action, will satisfy every shooter fan
  • Story shows intersting Nanosuit facts
  • Upgrading Nanosuit
  • 10 Hour campaign
  • The nanosuit gives you nice options

Cons:

  • Low enemy variety
  • It feels like a consoleport
  • Story doesn’t belong to the first one
  • Sometimes the AI is just dumb
  • No variety in gameplay
  • Aim assist
  • 12 player MP
  • Not enough space to make interesting characters
  • Cool, but stupid ending

Portal 2

Pro:

  • Good story, with nice surprises
  • Good soundtrack
  • highly innovative gameplay (generally)
  • Lovely characters
  • High variety in gameplay
  • High mod potential, many custom mods and maps will come
  • simple principle with the portalgun
  • Great humour
  • PS3 Version has a free PC version
  • One of the best coops ever
  • Developer commentary
  • Low requierments
  • Great ending

Cons:

  • A bit too short 7-8 hours
  • The middlepart is a bit “too long”
  • A bit too many loading screens

Get both, but not at the same time. Buy the one that you can find the cheapest right now and then buy the other one when it’s on discount.

They’re both good games, so I’m not referring to anyone in particular.

edit: the hate for Portal 2 is ridiculous. Were you really expecting something radically different from the original? I mean, c’mon, it was obvious it was still going to be all about test chambers and portals but much more expanded. All the new gel mechanics and characters actually added something different to the game. And if you weren’t expecting some degree of repetition, then you were deluding yourself.

funny observation: both portal 2 and crysis 2 were released in 2011 with only DX9 support (no DX10,11). It’s like developers are spitting in microsoft’s face, and I like it.

But in reality, it’s the consoles that are dragging them down, if they release a good DX11 patch for crysis 2, the console port will looks like doom II compared to the PC port.

Y U NO CRY SUM MOAR

I like to think that you’re like this in real life, only you yell instead of speak.

I never had a single doubt that you do.

Even if he always did this to me, IRL, I’d still like him more than you.

I’d agree with the people saying get both. Both are excellent games, though I have to say I prefer Crysis 2, myself, even though I’m a massive Valve fanboy. I loved Portal 2, but it honestly didn’t really kick in for me until the vintage test chambers. I kind of dragged myself through the first couple hours. Crysis 2 also drags a bit in certain areas, but it has a well-made feel about it, just like Portal 2.

Portal 2, on the other hand, has the advantages of a much better story and far better voice acting than Crysis 2. On the other hand, though it’s an excellent engine, I’m feeling that Valve won’t get much more out of Source than they did with Portal 2. There were so many loading times in it simply because each level was pushing the engine to breaking point.

So bscly get both, eventually.

Bro <3

I’m so terribly hurt.

You definitely are, nincompoop.

Lol ODB you’ve been on a roll for the last 2-3 days, where did this rage spree come from?

I deluded myself then, but they could have at least kept glados dead, and had a bit more real-world portal action.

also, I vaguely recall already ESCAPING in portal 1 :fffuuu:

He was exposed to massive amounts of Garth, and just exploded.

@vand3537: Guess you missed this then.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
