Portal 2 delayed, E3 Surprise “Portal 2 Themed”

I already saw this coming, when they announced Portal 2.

I’m going to have to agree with Danson. If valve wants loyal followers… they should not piss on them.

Take it to the rage thread, that’s what it’s there for.

I’m a loyal follower of VALVe… even if they pissed me off many times already…:retard:

Valve doesn’t piss on anyone to begin with.

Find me a more generous gaming company. That’s right, you can’t.

^Thank you for speaking sense. For all of the rest of you, press your ear up against the screen:

VALVE DOESN’T OWE YOU SHIT[/size]

I hate Valve time… >< I really like Portal… but yeah I do want EP3 more…

What theee fuck about fucking ep3.

geekofalltrades is right about them owing you nothing plus why do all people get pissed off when there is a delay or something so it’s comming a bit later so what if they think that there are still things that need to be changed let’em change them …

Valve don’t owe me shit…alright…then from now on I’ll pirate all their games

You should also know that you are an entire idiot. Not just partially, entirely.

Shhh kid, didn’t mean to hurt your feelings

kid, eh? You’re the one proclaiming to pirate Valve’s games. What’s the matter? Your parents not giving you enough allowance? Seems you’re the kid buddy. Enjoy your butthurtness.

Haha little boy, you talk as if you knew it all eh? keep trying

Although it is true that Valve doesn’t owe anyone anything, by delaying their games they run the risk of alienating the fans they want to spend money on their products. Delaying their product once they have announced it may be acceptable for a mod group creating something in their spare time, but is just unprofessional once you’re a big player in the video game industry. I would of thought they would of remembered this from Gabe’s lies before the release of Half-Life 2.

I love Valve and their games are head and shoulders above some developers, but this is a problem that they have to deal with, if they want continued respect from consumers and colleagues.

It boils down to this. They started releasing the HL2 episodes along with the expectation that the release times of each episode would be in the realm of months rather than years because each episode would be more of an expansion than a full sequel. This is an expectation that Valve set, not the fans. So not only have they failed so far to meet that expectation, they have also refused to acknowledge that failure and give some kind of hint of when they are going to work on the shit. THAT’s the part that’s really annoying. Hell, I’ll be happy even if it’s not as good as Ep 2 so long as it’s about as good as Ep 1 or better. I just want to see the end of the damn story without having to wait another year.
If they take much longer, someone is going to create a mod with their own Ep3 that is as good or better than Valve’s.

Oh look, a fight. You guys probably wonder how I manage to show up for almost every one of these.

CharChar, getting angry because an entertainment company doesn’t do what you want it to, when you want it to is pretty childish. It’s almost as bad as someone getting angry over random people not making free games when they want them to, and how they want them to.

As cleverly stated before: Valve doesn’t owe us shit. We owe Valve because they make our lives more entertaining.

It’s not like they already forced you to buy Portal 2 while it isn’t out yet.

Ubisoft on the other hand…

I don’t understand why people continue to act like they are being raped or something. We all know Valve isn’t the fastest producer out their, but they allways deliver beyond the expectations and standards of the gaming community. With this in mind the discussion shouldn’t be about the delay itself, but the reason for the delay. In my opinion the delay is about their outdated gaming engine. I think they feel the source engine isn’t capable of delivering the gaming experience they wish to create. I believe that’s the reason for the delay and further discussion should be about what Valve wants to realize and the possibilities a engine update could have for us.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
