Portal 2 delayed, E3 Surprise “Portal 2 Themed”

yeah im talking about the game informer portal 2 sceerns, sure they look like a very big improvment over previous source games, but nowehere near like a new engine, and for a game going to be reakleas probly mid-late 2011, they look pretty weak.

I don’t think that anything we’ve seen is on a new engine, they may just port it over to take advantage of a few engine improvements and not totally use the engine to its fullest. Sounds like a stretch even to myself, but seriously, what else could the surprize possibly be?

Portal isn’t about blindingly good graphics. It’s about solving complex puzzles with a portal gun. It looks good enough for the type of game it is.

Oh, and stop assuming they’re really working on a new engine.

Your absolutely right Maxey, but I can’t think of anything else a portal related surprise would be that would make the game better. A surprize worthy enough to take special note of it, instead of just saying, “We want to take some extra time to make it better” and then never find out what it was they were talking about, like what normally happens. Instead they are telling us why they are delaying it and calling it a surprize.

They hired the writers of LOST, so now the next game will feature Duke Nukem trying to kill Gordon Freeman with a portal gun.

but wasnt it the whole point of this discussion, too prove its not a new engine suprise ?
And honestly, i dont thing anything other than that is posible, coap for whole game is the only other option, but for me it would destroy the portal experience.
I really cant imagine it being anything good, i expect some controversy rrisng after this show.

What the hell is wrong with you? :hmph:

blue, I can’t read your posts without going into blind rage mode. Seriously, what’s wrong with using proper grammar in forum posts?

I stopped reading at “coap for whole game” because my brain was vomiting all over itself.

Bscly. There isn’t anything I can think of that improves Portal to make it “the greatest game made by Valve ever” that doesn’t drasticly alter the gameplay. Unless they are talking about story, in which case, I’m gonna be (even more) pissed A story alone does not make a game better [COLOR=‘Black’]and does not deserve to take priority over any HL game

EDIT: @ Medevilea: I’m just really pissed off at the fact that the “suprise” is gonna be Portal 2 related, instead of HL3 or Ep3 or whatever it’s gonna be. We’ve been waiting for like, forever and Portal 2 is barely announced and it already takes priority over HL.

I dont know the proper grammar ?

Yay! if it’s not ep3 it’ll probably be Half-Life 4!

:expressionless:

:frowning:

Now, if you will excuse me, I’ll suicide myself.

Maybe you do, but you’re not using it for some reason.

When was that ever established in the post from Valve or in this thread? The only point that Valve is trying to make is that they are delaying it to make it better, and that it is a Portal 2 surprize. Not L4D3 or Episode 3 announcement.

those Portal 2 screens look pretty photo-realistic and subtle to me, which I think looks better than whatever blue is expecting.

also, blue has lost all credibility since he hasn’t played Ep1 or Ep2 because he deemed them as looking stupid, so I’m going to disregard anything he says from now on concerning future valve games.

Well, we are speculating what the suprise might be, and somebody did mention a new engine.

Everyone mentioned everything in all of this surprise malarkey.

Doesn’t mean any of it is true.

Wow, a lot of the people in this thread have got some major entitlement issues. Chill the hell out.

NEVER TELL ANYONE TO CHILL OUT, WHEN IT COMES TO EP3!!:fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu:

The surprise is a LIE.

HAHA REALLY? oh wow… blue, you put way too much priority in graphics, man.
