:fffuuu:

And also, PS3 has been released in Brazil, but for a mouth-raping price of £2221.10 ($3711)

Hahahahahaha

Old news is old.

8 days old.

I saw this on Kotaku weeks ago.

i bet they buy them from amazon

Not funny.

I paid 42.000 dinars for an xbox 360 premium (that’s 443 euros) here in Serbia. When PS2 came out here its initial price was roughly 800 marks. Wii costs 300 euros and a PS3 would cost you 600 euros in this country. Also an average PS3 game costs about 100 euros - that’s why I bought an xbox.

This story kinda remains me of my buddy who imports drugs from Brasil - he makes a living out of it. I am lucky I can afford these things in a country where an average salary is 300 euros per month.
You westerners don’t know how good your life is compared to the rest of the world.

And yet your countries are so rich that they wage war for our “liberation” , when I heard NATO was bombing us for our freedom back in 1999 I lol’d. I was free all the time. And after the bombing fucked up our country the prices went sky-high due to our corrupt government. The prices are still way up there so there you have it laugh at us.
and don’t tell me that cool story bro crap

Cool story bro.

Yes the situation kinda sux in Central/Eastern - Europe, here in Hungary too. I mean the consoles and the games cost really much, and they wonder why we torrent games instead of buying them…

Actually I wanted you to say cool story bro - that’s why i told you not to say it haha. Touché.

@Aze yeah no one really has enough money to buy original games - I went to Budapest and Saint Andrew last month and i can tell you guys live like kings compared to us - you even have metro

That’s hardly a touché.

Don’t winge and cry about shit you can change, noone if forcing you to buy them in your country.

And the term ‘westerners’ is pretty pointless and stupid on a forum full of people from all around the world.

Yeah that’s why I was referring to you westerners.
I’m not winging and crying I’m just saying that you bluntly unaware of how the things are in the outside world - that is the reason you find this story funny
And it’s funny how your government is serving you a false image of the outside world - they are actually manipulating you.

Shit i can change? Huh. I can hardly overthrow a government on my own.

EDIT: I know where Australia is, been there. Also I thought Australia was an English colony that were some English people down there -my friend i will learn geography if you learn your 200 year long(short) history

Australia is not in the fucking West.

We are on the Eastern hemisphere of the Earth.

Go learn some geography ffs.

Yawn.

Thank FSM I live in the US, where consoles are around $300 or less (after a billion price cuts that is) and games cost $60 or less.

But at least SOME really REALLY fucking rich Brazilians will now be able to play some if the best games ever:

But some Brazilians will have to be REALLY REALLY REALLY fucking rich if they want to play THE best game ever:

Yeah, I’m sure Brazil is a beautiful place, but I prefer my recession filled deep-fried country.

I’ve been following these forums for ages, paciently waiting for BMS’s release… but after reading this, i just had to register and reply :stuck_out_tongue:

it is true that Sony officialy lauched PS2 last week and it is true that we usually pay a lot more for electronics than in other countries, but the differences aren’t that high.

First of all, PS2 has been available for everyone in Brasil since its launch by means of imports. Games and electronics shops simply imported the console, legally, and sold it. You can get one today for like R$ 450. Thats around 250US$, and just because the dollar has lost a lot of value against the Real in the last year.

You can find a ps3 in the same way. Any shop sells it legally and it will cost you around R$ 1,300 for the slim version. That’s around US$ 720. Yeah… i know it’s expensive, but it isnt US$ 3,500

The same thing for the x360, but this one, microsoft has officially launched, so you have all the support and guarantee. It’s been officially launched in 2007 if i’m not mistaken.

So… we do pay a lot more, but it isn’t 10x more as the news says, and also, we get everythin legally at the same time as the rest of the world.

Don’t be surprised if visit a favela and see some kids playing FIFA 10 in their shiny new PS3 heheh

PS3’s have a matte black colour. How can that be shiny?

My roommate has one. It’s pretty shiny.

Not the Slim though.

Can’t wait to get a PS3. I’m going to play the shit out of Metal Gear Solid 4!

We have regulators; the only media here that has heavily biased views is the Daily Mail. But seriously, who reads that rubbish?

Anyway, I think it’s actually quite appalling that the PS2 costs that much in Brazil… the import tax on electronics are huge in most Latin American countries though… it is very very annoying for the people.
