It seems that if a grenade impact does damage, other thrown objects should do damage as well.
you are going to give grenade impacts damage, right?
And objects should do damage, even if they can’t be thrown far, like oil barrels flying away from a grenade explosion; those should do damage.
So dropping an object from a significant height could cause damage?

AFAIK, the grenade only did damage to you in HL2 if it was thrown at point-blank range, and even then it only does about 1 or 2 points of damage.
So… like the brickbat, this would need a viewmodel of all possible props in BMS? This would make the mod’s size almost 50% bigger!

The brickbat was a HL2 “weapon” which allowed the player to pick up any small object and toss it as a weapon. It later got turned into the non-lethal “Use key” system.
I know what the brickbat was, I was referring to all of the rest of his post. Why would there need to be view models of other props? What does that have to do with the grenade doing that one point of damage?
If you could pick up any prop as a weapon logically you would need a viewmodel for it unless you want an incredibly shit low res skin right next to your face. As for the relevance to grenades, I have no idea.
What the heck gameplay purpose would that serve? It would be a gimmick that doesn’t fit into the existing mechanics. We normally don’t add features solely because we “think it would be cool.” (even if it’s sometimes part of the reason)
It was downgraded in HL2 for a reason.
