Any fool can kill Rambo style. A smart man avoids detection from the enemy.
Not enough to spell thief correctly.
:3
:hmph:
The point stands. THIEF did not create the stealth genre, Castle Wolfenstein did. Nor did it set the standard for the genre, as Metal Gear Solid did.
I’m sure the game is still awesome, though.
Thief -> Metal Gear (solid or otherwise)
Pfffft. Suuure. Whatever you say.
Breath of Fire 4 (I think this was the last rpg I really enjoyed playing…and it’s avaliabe for PC, no emu)
Samorost 1 & 2
Yeah but that is boring
Games I’ve never played, but would like to:
STALKER
GTA:SA
GTA4
Call of Duty
Killing Floor
L4D
L4D2
TF2 (maybe, but only because it came with the Orange Box)
Games I’ve never played and don’t plan to:
World of Warcraft
Anything involving Pokemon
And then there’s the list of games I’ve played that I wished I hadn’t…
(let’s save that for another thread)
I guess Garrett from Thief isn’t a fool, because if you’re detected, odds are you’re about to die from a few horribly voice-acted guards.
That’s the point.
Edit: Unless you were quoting Yahtzee, in which case I take back my implied “no shit.”
Snake just kicks the shit out of everything, unless it’s a main boss character in a cutscene, in which case he almost always gets his shit kicked out.
And then they talk.
For like 2 hours.
Boo-hoo! The cutscenes are too long! Waaaaaaaaaa!!!
Anyway, I need to play the Sam and Max episodes. The demo on XBLA was awesome, and the first episode of the cartoon was amazing!
Sudden Strike anyone?
Now those were big fucking maps. Hardest game I’ve ever played.
I recommend Plants versus Zombies.
I haven’t played Halo, TF2, or CS.
@Deimos, I was actually going to take your opinions relatively seriously then…
…until the pokemon comment. :meh:
I have played Codename Gordon, have you?
Baldur’s Gate series = Best D&D RPG ever. Fuck your graphics and 3rd edition ruleset. It is the only game I have ever played in which I choose my party members based more on their personality than on their skillset, and that’s what makes it a REAL “Role Play” Game.
Psychonauts = Best Platformer. It’s got Puzzles, Battles, Huge range of unique levels, solid core gameplay mechanics, quirky characters with deep and detailed personalities, and a great story some really cool twists. In short, it has everything.
Cave Story = Best Indie Game. PC version is Free, Wiiware version is updated from the ground up. Divergent Storylines, awesome gameplay mechanics, strong emotions and an EPIC hidden ending.
Sam&Max = I played Secret of Monkey Island and had fun, but I had more fun on any individual episode of Sam & Max than I did on any individual Part of SoMI, even with the upgraded interface of SoMI: Special Edition. Sam & Max has 11 episodes already and is coming out with another 5 this year.
