So I’m right now following a guide on how to overclock a Core 2 Duo. But I’m wondering, what’s the maximum temperature my CPU should reach (with a stock air cooler)? BTW I got an E4400.
No more than 80degree’s on mine. E6750 oc’ed.
Anything over that would be bad on a stock cooler I think. Let the experts battle it out I say
.
Okay because I get 76ºC in stress mode right now.
Edit: Went back to 53ºC after the stress mode
Mine idles around 27C right now, under intense stress I get up to 57C, not more.
Really? And you got a stock fan IIRC?
That’s pretty sweet sersoft. What are you running though?
.
my q6600 OC’d to 3.6ghz idles at 22c, but thats cause I have a Coolermaster V10.
Okay I got a problem:
My FSB is currently to 224, and was at 200 at the start. My problem is, when I try to put it higher in SetFSB my computer just freezes. My Vcore is at 1.35V if it can help.
Heres a screenshot:
Use BIOS its better than the windows programs.
Yeah but I can’t run a stability test in BIOS mode so if I do something wrong I’m just fucked.
I’ve got my E8400 3ghz up to 4ghz with idle 39c with under stress it gets to maybe 59-60c. But I don’t have stock cooling and that’s a big overclock soo…
I am not using the stock fan, I’m using a stock celeron cooler and fan, my CPU is the E4500 (2.2ghz core2duo) at 2.98ghz.
Until I unplug the power cord, put off the battery, wait for a bit and then plug in everything.
You dont always have to do that. The POST detects the fail and goes to defaults.
Its all good good in the hood when that happens!
Somewhere in the range of over 9000 degrees.
Kelvin.
Or…ya know, reset the CMOS.
What is your mobo? I can give you something of a BIOS guide…
wHat, 9000 ??
