OMG "x" is on sale thread.

Yeah, that site is quite handy. Would be a bit more useful if I could get prices from my region and filter out games that are unavailable here…

The game “Farm for your Life” is listed as 100% off, price -$0.01. The purchase button on its store page has disappeared.

Bought Payday 2 for $6. Should I get AC Black Flag? I had to get a controller to play AC2 on PC, is BF better?

I’d play any Ubisoft port with a controller, really.

Not necessarily Ubisoft games in general, but AC games definitely. Watch Dogs plays fine with kb+m (at least for me) though driving could be better. I imagine all the Far Cry games play much better with kb+m.

Just in case somebody wasn’t checking, Skyrim’s 75% off today, and the DLCs are 50% off.

I just picked up Dawnguard and Hearthfire.

Assassin’s Creed games mouse/keyboard controls have been a bit mixed in my experience:

Assassin’s Creed: worked quite well
Assassin’s Creed II: mouse acceleration, framerate capped at 63, some locked camera angles when moving around
Assassin’s Creed - Brotherhood: mouse acceleration, unlocked framerate (which makes the mouse acceleration more bearable - more responsive at 120fps), more locked camera angles than AC2 had (sadly).

All playable, just II and Brotherhood are occasionally frustrating.
Haven’t played Revelations or AC3 yet.

Got Bulletstorm while it was on a flash sale the other night. GFWL seems even slower than I remember it being back when I first had to use it.

I got so good at playing AC with mouse and keyboard it felt strange to me playing it with a gamepad.

That happened to me with GTA games. And actually most games in general.

Risk of Rain is on flash sale for $2.49. It’s become one of my favorite games. A bit buggy, but the developers are doing a pretty good job of working on it (they’re both students) and the price is right.

So I’ve heard lots of good things about Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri and it’s on sale for $2 on GoG right now. What I want to know is how it differs from the mainline Civ series and just want to know your guys’ opinions on it.

So STALKER: Clear Sky is on 50% sale.

I know a lot of people here like that series, so is it worth picking up?
I asked something similar probably last year, and if I remember people were either saying that 1 of the stalker games you can skip, or you should be using a few mods to fix bugs and make it more fun, but I forget which it was (if not both, or none).

Clear Sky is the one people say you can skip. It’s a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl. If you’re going to pick up any Stalker game pick up SoC first then CoP second.

From what I’ve heard Clear Sky was quite buggy, but the game itself is said to be pretty good (though maybe not as good as Shadow of Chernobyl).
Mods / community patches might help with the bugs.

Sweet, Transistor is on sale today.

This is interesting.

You can buy XCOM: Enemy Unknown for $9.89 for the next 22 hours, OR you could get XCOM: Enemy Unknown AND The Bureau: XCOM Declassified in a bundle for $8.49

I wonder which one you should choose.

Yeah, it’s stupid when they do that kind of thing. The last day of the sale istomorrow and it’s ending early in the morning.

You should choose the XCOM Complete pack, because if you pick up The Bureau your steam queue will contract Alzheimer’s and you’ll lose all your games, one by one.

That’s the most optimistic mock-up I’ve ever seen.

If it were any more optimistic, “The City of Metronome” would be on there.

Similarly, there was a discount when you could buy GTA4 + EFLC or GTA4 + EFLC + GTA3 + San Andreas + Vice City for the same price.
