Just curious if anyone else has done the On A Rail chapter without actually ever using the tram for kicks. You need the tram to break down the concrete blocking the way out of Power Up, but after that point you can do it without ever using the tram.
No, you need it for that first elevator too.
I sometimes abandon the tram partway through and skip half of the side-missions 
that and a few of the many Bottomless chasms in OAR are impossible to safely cross without it.
I don’t remember there being any bottomless pits in OAR.

Well, I’m not talking about using that stupid bunny hop thingy to abuse momentum, it’s doable without that…though using it would certainly help.
Fuck that, you mean leave the tram behind and actually WALK all that damn way? I’m too damn lazy for that. Hell I wish Black Mesa Research Facility had one of those rascal scooters like they have at Walmart, I’d drive my fat ass through the whole game on that thing, and do 3mph drive bys on the HECU Marines and aliens.
It’s actually faster in my opinion, you can skip massive chunks.
I’ve managed to play through Highway 17 & Sandtraps without the Buggy.
