NYC Mosque

Well the Tea Party had a good idea to boot out all the incumbents and stop both parties from being dimwits
Than they got corrupted by all the Republicans that joined the party to avoid being painted by the same brush

The idea of booting out all the incumbents (regardless of association) is probably the best of many ideas I have heard over the years. I am still seriously thinking of doing it. If nothing else but to shake up republicans that might have thought they had a shoo in.

The presidential debates are run by a committee consisting of appointees of the democrat and republic parties. That and the fact that a party must garner at least 5% of national votes to get ANY federal campaign dollars in the NEXT election cycle means that it is effectively impossible for another party to gain traction on a national level
because we only have 2 parties, both sides get their money from the same places and thusly both are indebted to the large money interests that are hosing us in the first place.

PRO-TIP: Using the term “Democrat” as an adjective is a bit silly.

Carry on.

Is it any sillier that referencing the Karate kid and Geocities in a screen name?
Besides, it offends members of said party when referred to as such

So the mosque plans are still in right? I mean, there really isnt any ‘legal’ loophole being used to block it right?

Then again, there is always the possibility of some lunatic doing a bombing on the site which would cause more of an uproar regardless of a persons stance on the whole thing.

Just a mess if ya ask me. Why cant we all just play nice and get along?

Yes. I acknowledge that my screen name is silly.

So, it’s done on purpose?

The silliness abounds in these here parts :stuck_out_tongue: My sig is from a meme more than six months old. Thats paleolithic in inter-tube/web/net time

I think it should be the goal of every American to be tolerant.

The mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance.

That is why I also propose that two bars be opened next door to the mosque, one gay, one straight thereby promoting tolerance within the mosque. We could call the bars “You Mecca Me So Hot” and "Morehammered”?

Next door should be a butcher’s shop that specialises in pork and has an open barbeque with spare ribs as its daily special, and on the other side, a brewpub that brews its own ale on the premises.

Across the street a very daring lingerie store called “Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret” with sexy mannequins in the window modelling the goods.

Next door to the lingerie shop, there would be room for an Adult Toy Shop (Koranal Knowledge?), its name in flashing neon lights.

This is freedom right?

It’s not a mosque and it’s not even close to ground zero.

Learn to read before you get your retard-rage on.

It is (partially) a mosque, but its far from ground zero. Lern2Mosque.

I do like the way everyone was in an uproar, it was going to destroy America as we know it, its detractors were never going to let the mosque be built, and then suddenly everyone forgot about it. Never change, America, never change.

It’s not a mosque, it’s a community centre with space for prayer. A mosque has to be dedicated to prayer.

Yep and people like you need to learn a sense of humor and know the difference between RANT and a little light hearted HUMOR!

Your more of a problem :meh:

A mosque is a place for prayer. That part of the building is a mosque. It doesn’t need to be a separate building.

You need to know the difference between humo(u)r and a pile of wank.

Erm, yes it does. It’s already been said in this thread.

More of a problem than what?

Also, what Flatline said. I’m struggling to find anything humorous in what you said.

Cite a source first.

The best I can find is this, which says that actually the entire building is a mosque because part is used for worship (it says nothing about the exclusive use).

I dunno, I thought this was kinda funny.

Yeah well people have different sense of humor as well as different beliefs…

We accept that.

You apparently don’t.
