NYC Mosque

I meant why is Utah full of Nazis?

Well technically Idaho is full of the actual Nazis, but Utah is full of religious extremists due to it being the Mormon capital of the world.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH

Mormon’s extremists? Since when?

they seem all polite when they knock on ur door, but what you dont realise is u get 3 chances to let them in… after the 3rd turn down they come to ur house, with c4 strapped to their stomach, they scream “JOSEPH SMIIITTTTTH” and then blow the shit out of the front door, then they come in, offer u leaflets and demand tea and shit…

god damn them

Tell me the difference between them, please.

Nazism has nothing to do with religion?

Did you really just call it Nazism?

Actually, it’s the major political and tv personalities who need to pull their panties out of their collective asscracks and stop misinforming the general populace.

Huh, I’ve always called it “shit licking”, but OK.

EDIT: Wow now that I look back on that, that was an unnecessary comment.

this is classic American race baiting during an election year. Much like The Willie Horton ad from the bush '88 campaign https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io9KMSSEZ0Y this rhetoric is designed to tap the ignorant fear that americans are spoon fed from “news” outlets every day.

Americans, when measured not as individuals but as a large group can be epic in their ignorance and respond quite readily to this type of propaganda and mis-information.
The truly hilarious bit of all of this fear baiting is that it mostly comes from Fox News at the national American level. Now, the primary investor in the Park 51 muslim cultural center is Saudi Prince Al-Waleed. Saudi Prince Al-Waleed is also invested in Rupert Murdoch’s news corp, which owns fox news, to the tune of 2.3 BILLION dollars or 7%. That means that the people behind the “Terror Mosque at ground Zero” are also the people behind Fox news, Glen Beck, Bill O’riely ect.
Conservative Republicans had 12 years of control in the legislature and 8 years of control in the white house. We are experiencing the results of the policies that grew out of that control. Economic bailouts, the destruction of the American manufacturing sector, rampant corruption in the financial sector, and a total distrust of the officials that WE as americans have elected. With nothing else left for republicans to campaign on after all their policies have failed, the republican opposition once again returns to its racist 1950s roots and uses fear to gain votes.

Hold up a sec John. Perhaps you should re-investigate the statistics of opinions on this before blanketing the fanaticism on all Republicans or all FOX news.

As I stated in another post, according to current New Yorker statistics, most New Yorkers are NOT in favor of the center. New York is a VERY democrat state… not republican state. Especially New York, New York.

Thoughts on this?

How about this. In all controversial subjects (and these days there certainly are enough controversial topics being argued to death) it is obviously the democrats/republicans fault.

:stuck_out_tongue:

I am blanketing the fanaticism on fox news because that is where the vast majority of it is coming from at the American national level. There is also a huge difference between people of a town with a Democrat majority not liking something and an opposition political party candidate using an issue as a race baiting tactic. The candidates, republican and tea party(republican) that are using the the issue the most are not from NYC or NY state. The officials in the state have cited proper building permits, funding and the bill of rights (you know, religious freedom and all that old crap) as a reason why it should be allowed. When Timothy Mcveigh (a CHRISTIAN fanatic) blew up a building in Oklahoma, nobody talked of banning churches on OKC. Did we ban buddhist temples in Hawaii after ww2? This tactic has the hallmark of republican politics written all over it. Did you watch the Willie Horton ad?

As for democrats, they are WAAAAAAAAAAYYYY to pussified to ever be fanatical these days. Even with the biggest Legislative majority in recent history and control of the executive, democrats still have trouble getting things done. The ankle clutching-take it in the ass attitude has been the voice of the party since the eighties. Clinton Had balls in '92. Obama had Balls in '08. Even Nanci Pelosi started to grow a pair in '06 but these are by far the exception and not the rule. With that said, in a two party system, the ignorance tends to be split down the middle. thats why there is a disagreement here period. There is no reason to prevent this cultural center from being built except for the furthering of ignorance based politics.

As for New Yorkers, just because a majority believe something does not make it right. In the 1950’s a majority of people in America believed that racial segregation was OK. Both democrats and republicans believed this. When the democratic party officially took a stance against racial segregation, the most racist elements (Strom Thurmond, the segregationist senator who had a child with his black servant, for one) in the U.S. south split off to form the Dixiecrats to continue their politics. This of course, failed miserably. Then, most of them found a party that was much more aligned with their racist beliefs, the Republicans. The legacy of this move can be seen in political attack ads, like the one in my post above or like this “Terror Mosque” BS we are dealing with today.
So yes, Republicans and Fox news. They love to hide behind the “Party of Lincoln who fought the civil war and freed the slaves so we can’t be racist” but recent history and now shows that this is not the case.
Thoughts?

haha wow! That was a whole lotta words to try to convince me that the democratic haters are actually republican fox news idiots. The fact remains that for those that it would matter to the most (NEW YORK, NEW YORK) they may be liberal, and they may be democrats, but they are not in favor of the center. AT ALL.

But go ahead. Continue blaming the media upchuck frenzy on the other guys. It is a popular pasttime right now.

btw. The Tea Party is not made up of only rep. There are independent and dems in there too chap.

It was a lot of words, but I never said democrat haters are actually republican fox news fans. I called the democrats pussies and the haters ignorant and tried to make a distinction between not liking something and using it as a race baiting political tactic.

Did you watch the willie horton ad yet? Maybe you are to young to understand the significance of it and how it relates to the issue being discussed here and now. It did happen 20 years ago and all. The media frenzy is obvious, no popular pastime of blame needed.

I know location is everything but this issue hits outside of Manhattan. Do new yorkers live in a bubble outside of standard US politics? What happens in one part of the country to freedoms enshrined in our constitution affects all of us.

And please, the tea party just happened to spring up after the republican party, in total power for several election cycles lost their ass due to an epic series of failures of the core fundamentals of the party,(free, unregulated markets, small government ect.) that made them totally unpopular to the average voter. When the democrats regained total legislative and executive control and the people of the U.S. elect a black president, boom, here they were. Not when bush had the biggest government in history, or running up debt and bailing out cronies. There may be dems in the tea party but it is a republican astroturfing operation.

You use the chap a lot. Chap is a british expression. Brits are socialist. Socialists are communists. OMG you are a commie. :stuck_out_tongue:
Sound kinda stupid? So are the arguements against the park 51 building

Your signature is insulting, therefore your argument is invalid. :stuck_out_tongue:

j/k

Carry on.

John…please make your posts more readable. A paragraph here and there wouldn’t hurt.

I think it’s funny* how people believe that polls matter when speaking about civil rights. 63% of people think that the center shouldn’t be built so therefore, the center shouldn’t be built. 58% of people think that this specific group shouldn’t get marriage so that specific group shouldn’t get marriage.

To paraphrase Morbo:

CIVIL RIGHTS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!

 • funny, like the smell of spoiled milk

Thats ok, few people understand the artistic, intellectual and cultural greatness that is the Amazing Horse :stuck_out_tongue:

Lets try this

1: The park 51 cultural center is a non-issue, being used by the out of power party (republicans) and a few of the incumbent party (democrats/pussies) to stir up the most base and ignorant fear voters have about something they don’t understand for the purpose of garnering votes, regardless of truth. They call it the “Ground zero Mosque” or “Terror Mosque” even though it is several blocks away from ground zero and much more line the YMCA

2: The park 51 imams and investors have NOTHING to do with the 9-11 attacks. In fact, the people who are funding the Park 51 cultural center are also major investors in fox news, the national news outlet attacking the cultural centers location the most. Kinda hypocritical and racist. This is nothing new to republican politics as per the Willie Horton ad in the above post.

3: Even if New Yorkers don’t like the cultural center because of emotional reasons (being attacked by Saudi, Egyptian and Yemeni Al Queda members 10 years ago) America has laws and processes set up to to protect the interests of minority populations against the will of the often ignorant majority. We have the Civil rights act, the voter freedom act, the Americans with disabilities act and these are on the books because America has a history of oppression and violence to minority populations who often cannot defend themselves legally or otherwise.

To sum it up, this is classic American political divisiveness. The out of power party, having the core fundamentals of the party (free market, less government, preemptive war) shown to be the cause of the current state of America resorts to fear mongering tactics to win an election. This is nothing new. The in power party, not being able to solve Americas problems in a 2 year election cycle also resort to the same tactics to keep votes and power. Thusly, all of us who can’t stand both parties and want a better America (strong economy, good schools, politics based on the bettering of American lives) are left screwed out in the cold as two party politics as usual in America chugs on like an old coal fired steam train with no brakes.

I know its a lot of words, but it is the truth, and the fear of having to read too many words, or having to look deeply into a subject to get past the rhetoric and BS that is thrown about is what Americans need to do, or else it is business as usual, the same old train, the same old tracks, and the same two destinations
