No New Valve Game At E3

Thank you for info, Mr. Newell, be sure to keep posting interesting stuff in this thread

Im just retelling the facts

 1. They said they won’t follow the episodic model anymore. -> No episode 3.

 2. They won’t show up on the E3, but on the gamescom. And which game is supposed to come out this year? Dota 2. So it’s gonna be shown on the gamescom.

Eveybody was disappointed at the surprise that Valve showed at last years E3 that they have decided they won’t show any games at this years E3.

But they will be there…at E3…With HL3…

SURPRISE!!!

look on steam, HL3 is already there.

Nice troll.

That just happened because no one can read

Doug Lombardi said that it’s going to be a Portal 2 related surprise instead of the big show. And what did the magazines do? They said they would show Source Engine 2 or Half Life 3 or Counter Strike 2, just because they can’t fucking read correctly.

Everyone who believed that it was going to be Half Life related must be completely retarded. Everyone is self responsible for being disappointed. I wasn’t, cause I’ve read what he said, and it had to do something with Portal 2. And ta-da. Portal 2 on PS3.

What are you spewing, Portal 2 is fine. That’s terrible sarcasm if you’re just kidding.

And I’ve said this time and time again.

THERE IS NO COUNTER-STRIKE 2. IT’S CALLED TACTICAL INTERVENTION

Well if you started 2 posts above mine and followed the natural order of things it would have made perfect sense :retard: .

For some reason I remembered this thread having more people who thought Valve would show at E3. Guess not.

people were disappointed because the surprise was a surprise most people didn’t cared about. I don’t know many PS3 hardcore gamers who love Valve games. They are in a tiny tiny minority. Newsflash: Valve is a pretty tiny company in the world of gaming. They got to step up their game if they wanna be noticed. And they can’t ride the HL1/HL2 wave for years and years. Dota 2 is a new thing coming from Valve and I think they are doing this now because they know most people don’t give a shit about Gordon freeman and the Left 4 Dead games were soon forgotten.

Actually, Valve isn’t a tiny company. They have over 265 employees, and they work on games which sell over 2-5 million copies.

They are doing Dota 2 now, because it’s set to be released this year, while Half Life or another L4D have no release dates yet.

Well at least you now some tinier GD companies, less then 250 workers in it. Valve defined as a small company. For instance, there are around 10 thousand employers at Blizzard

Ohh shizz, double post :stuck_out_tongue:

I think there are around 5000.

But Valve has their own way to hire guys. They don’t hire 100 in some weeks. They search for talents. Over 60% of the guys at Valve were people from the community, who managed to get there when they worked on a mod.

That’s why it’s taking so long to release EP3! Modders are slow as shit to release! :retard:

250+ is a large developer. That’s larger than Bungie and id. Plus, due to Newell’s hiring practices, every Valve employee is equal to like 3 regular employees. They definitely have the resources to be chugging along nicely on HL3, I think they’re just very cognizant that everyone is expecting the best game ever made, so they’re taking their time to make sure they deliver.

also blizzard is an entirely different matter because they also have to have people updating wow all the time, keeping battle.net updated and running, and shit like that

i’m sure they have relatively small teams working on their games (diablo III, the starcraft II expansions)

Did you not notice the :retard: in that statement, 'cus there was definitely a :retard: in that statement. :retard:

If I was talking specifically to you, I would have quoted you. Narcissist. :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed. Larger teams probably work much less efficiently.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
