Actually, off the top of my head I can think of at least one scenario much worse than that. I’ll give you a hint: it involves the release of a Half-Life game… or, to be more precise, the lack thereof.

I have largely given up hope of seeing another installment of Half Life. I find it very sad that the idiots at Valve feel the need to continue to work on sideshow nonsense rather than the main event. I did not buy or play either Left 4 Dead title (and I won’t), I will not even consider DOTA. The only reason I even played Portal 2 (and disappointed at that) is because it was a gift from my wife. I would have avoided it as well. I will simply not purchase or support any new Valve title until they put some long overdue effort (as in everyone, not just a team) into the only franchise that really matters.

Hey look, Diablo 3 comes, oh no wait, it took Blizzard centuries to finish it, I don’t care.

Oh, wow, Doom 4 is coming, oh no wait, it took id Software centuries to finish it, I don’t care.

@topic, well, Valve will appear on the gamescom, and they will most likely show Dota 2 on it.

With this news in mind, DOTA 2 probably won’t be out this year, or even early next year.
You know, this will be Valve’s first non-fps game, so this should be interesting, right?
