Nintendo 3DS

I want a Nintendo 2DS using that super flat, bendable LED technology.

Great, a slight breeze and; there goes my DS. :hmph:

Seriously though, no thanks. It would feel extremely awkward holding something like that. I would definitely prefer a system that has some weight to it.

I don’t get it…

I plan on getting the XL just because it’s friggin huge and use a R4i card :>

It’s the same screen resolution as the small ones, though.

Meh, I don’t even care about them things very much anymore. Now they have a DSI as well

You shouldn’t get a DSi XL if you already have a DSi. All it is is a DSi made big like the original DS again, then resold for easy money. If you don’t care about it fitting well in your pocket, and don’t already have a DSi, I guess you could go for it.

Now, about the 3DS. Is been reported to use a parallax barrier screen which deflects light to create a stereoscopic image at a certain distance! It could maybe use an advanced version of the DSi’s face recognition system to readjust the parallax barrier to work from a variety of distances! That would be awesome, just think of the possibilities! I would love to play Metroid Dread with Metroid Prime (3?) gameplay and graphics, IN 3D :jizz:! The only problem with this new DS thing, is how long will it be until the next best spinoff comes along :meh:! Oh well, I guess all will be revealed at this year’s E3, wish I could be there! :3

It doesn’t work that way. Think of a “parallax barrier” as the glasses you wear at a 3d movie. In this case, the screen is “wearing” the glasses instead of the viewer.

What the DSI camera could be used for is head tracking. So if you lean left/right, you are viewing the scene from a different angle. There are current DSI games that do this, but it would probably be mind-blowing with the addition of stereoscopic 3d.

also, when your sig is 3x longer than your posts, we have problems.

I wonder why’d you buy a DSi in the first place. If you want to take pictures, buy a camera.

I have the original DS, seems fine to me.

I JUST BOUGHT A DSI! Sigh…

cool how each new gameboy is equivalent to an older thing so nintendo get the honour of sellin you all the fames again

Nah i don’t have a DSi, I have a lite.

The PSP2 will be a 3DS or whatever its called killer.

Graphics power somewhere between an original XBOX and 360, thanks to the PSP2 screen’s lower resolution the graphics will look on-par or better than 360 games.

EDIT: This obviously isn’t confirmed, but it has been supported by several sources and I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t too far from the truth.

First off, could. This is not based on any evidence besides the reported motion detection and parallax barrier. As far as I know, parallax barriers haven’t been used that often yet. It seems that this technology is in it’s early stages and with enough effort, could be used like this. I wouldn’t be surprised if they figured out some way to get it to work.

Secondly, the reason my sig is so big, is because I thought I would provide some not so easily accessible information about the development, for more people to see. Allow passersby to see whats up. I understand how many would be annoyed about it’s size, but I’m not changing it. You’ll just have to deal with my dev quotes.

A “parallax barrier” isn’t some magical future technology, it’s a polarized screen that fits over a regular LCD screen. There’s no way of “adjusting” it, it’s simply a material that reflects light at different angles.

I hope the screen will be at least as big as the DS XL’s but also have a higher resolution.
