Also HL3 again confirmed to be in development, but sounds like few more years to me “_”
OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK OH FUCK
No, that will be once the first screen/footage of tech-demo surfaces :retard:
It doesn’t cost much to upgrade to a mid range system, plus Valve should concentrate more on higher systems to keep PC gamers interested in their games. Their new engine should also have built in dual core support and quad core support as well.
Valve’s been about this for quite a while. Apparently HL2 wasn’t like that though so HL3 might be pretty much a tech demo for their new engine. I hope it makes my computer melt for good reasons, not just because they don’t want to optimize it like Crysis 3.
Believe it or not, but there are actually people who don’t have that kind of money. I do, but I know a lot of people who doesn’t.
I believe even HL2 was pretty forgiving for lower-end systems, certainly considering the quality at the time.
About support for multicore:
c’mon! Do you really believe that they’ll build an angine without it?
Valve knows too well that a pc game must be fully scalable in terms of pc requirments…
More People can play=more Money copies they can sell.
Don’t worry! Source2 won’t be flawed like the id Tech 5
All aboard!
I’m waiting until the next HL’s recommended specs are announced before I get a new computer.
I’ve gotta say, that’s a great theory
I’m going to be more realistic and say that that’s when there’s an announcement.
More seriously, I now have great faith that HL3 will be announced within the next two years.
Well, as is the way of PC gaming; sucks to be them.
HL2 minimum specs went up a lot since first shipped version specifically after orange box update, because valve had to deal with engine fragmentation. Every source game had its own version of the engine, now there are only a couple of major “source” versions. That the games and mods must use. They had to do it to increase compatibility with newer PC’s capabilities.
Valve is still thinking about being able to play it on an older system, but only as long as the newest systems on the market can run it without problems, even after release date.
So just back-up the early release of HL3 before they add support for a newer generation and be forced to remove some backwards compatibility.
semi expecting DX9 Cryengine 3 functionality
It would be cool if they made DX11 an option.
I kinda really doubt they’d do that considering recent events.
Did Valve announce Half Life 3?
Yeah, they announced it about a week ago. Nobody really cares, though.
What? They did? Oh well, I hoped I’d see something in HL2’s Steam News. Who cares anyway.
