New Halo ODST trailer

Naw, it needs to be Humans versus Flood, then it would be just like Aliens (which I realize was directed by James Cameron), but with a little bit of Covenant sprinkled around to make it like Black Hawk Down (which WAS directed by Ridley Scott) as that is more conventional warfare.

And it CAN’T have Master Chief, unless they had the same voice actor, but it would still be dumb. They need Sgt. Johnson, played by Bill Cosby, to be the main character, with marines casted as the dudes from Rooster Teeth. Ahnold can get in a gorilla suit and be Tartar Sauce, and then you have a bitchn’ movie.

Best… idea… EVA!!!

EPIC!!!

I pre-ordered. This is going to be awesome!

You’re the only person I’ve seen use Tartar Sauce for Tartarus besides me. You knowthe guy that does Master chief used to narrate Shark Week?

Man, I hope ODST/Reach has bad guy elites.

Playing as Arbiter 'n friends on a journey back to elite-world to find it overrun by floods would be kind of neat, too.

ODST is before all the elite stuff so it has them. I think they are featured in some trailers.

I actually like the trailer. Great action, great music, and a great message.

And for everyone who has said “Ah hah, it sucks because it’s not showing gameplay, so Halo sucks…”

First of all, basing the unreleased game on a trailer is hogwash.

Second, it’s done with live actors because they have the balls to do so. So what if it isn’t gameplay…It’s sylish. How many gameplay trailers do you want?

I don’t remember anyone saying that.

I’ve read it elsewhere, and I meant ODST, not Halo as a whole.

Bungie has confirmed no flood ( ) or elites (:’( if you were sane and wanted to kill them again).

I always thought it would be cool though if you could play as regular marines against flood, so that every single little infection form could instantly kill you. It would really up the tension, and would be great for nighttime levels. Possibly in Firefight, Bungie?

Well…no Elites. Now that’s disappointing. I thought Bungie would take the time to add enemy AI to the Elites (I’m assuming that’s why they aren’t enemies).

Yup, they’re not in it at all. But at least they added the engineers, well known to any halo nerd (or, you know, if you played Halo Wars).

And read the books. And seen the concept art.

Huh, could of sworn I saw one in a trailer.

What, no elite at all? ODST better rock balls then, or I’m gonna be cheesed.

Thankfully Reach can’t not have elites. They’re the main guys you want to fuckup in the original, and Reach is the preqel, so yeah.

ODST looks quiet nice actually, ive been studying it for a while, i know its only spin off halo, but you get more of a feel for the story, so im up for putting it on my shelf.

Yeah, it looks like Bungie has re-learned how to tell a good story, something they lost during the development of Halo 3.
I loved how in Halo 1, the plot unfolded like a movie. You were always wondering “what’s going to happen next?” Then you shit yourself when the Flood shows up. Sure, it wasn’t exactly Half-Life, but back then it was the most amazing story in a video game ever (I wasn’t much of a gamer at the time.) In Halo 3, it’s basically there to tie up loose ends rather than to tell a compelling story.

Meh, the plot of Halo was hardly incredible. It may just be me playing it on a laggy (though not overly so) MacBook, but I never got a particularly memorable moment, story or otherwise from it.

EDIT: Actually scratch that last bit. The level in the library place with all the flood was memorable just because of horribly poorly designed it all was. Seriously, repeating the same level segment about 20 times?

Once again, put yourself in my shoes back then. I wasn’t much of a gamer back then, so it was all completely new to me.

Yeah, I guess that has happened to me, although the games I thought were good I have since ceased to play having decided that they are bad.
