How does this trailer in anyway advertise the game? I just don’t see the logic in spending however much it cost to make that when you could have in game footage showing the same thing that actually shows something about the game as well. Feel free to flame me for posting a trailer outside the trailer thread, if you feel it necessary.
Maybe showing that they might have the balls to make a movie, and might succeed at it?

Second of all, of all the places to talk about this, WHY ON EARTH did you pick a forum filled with PC gaming elitist?
Third of all, back on topic: It looks cool, but I doubt the campaign will carry the same amount of emotion. Just like Halo 3’s marketing, which promised a story of tragedy, hope, and redemption, where the final cutscene will make you shed more tears then when the United States screwed over the Native Indians, but what was delivered was yet another episode of “The Master Chief Grunt Torture Show!”
The game itself however, will probably kick ass.
Oh, and to Microsoft: GET NEIL BLOCKAMP AND PETER JACKSON BACK!!! District 9 was awesome! We need an awesome Halo movie! These guys will make it awesome! Get this movie Greenlit by WETA and I better see something along the lines of a Grunt Concentration Camp!

I’ve always like that about Halo. It’s silly and colorful and jelly-bean colored, not dark and depressing like a lot of games. The multiplayer is like Bingo with guns.

It promotes the game by getting people who might otherwise not know anything about it interested in it. They already released 4 other in-game trailers, so why not live-action? WETA has proven their ability to do it, and to do it well, so you have nothing to lose by making it.
I know. I just wanted to make an anti-Halo comment to balance my “Halo RUUUULLLZZZ” side.
I don’t get why people hate Halo as much as they do, I mean sure, the last three games have sucked for the most part, but You don’t see anybody else doing advertising this interesting to watch. I’m hoping ODST and Reach will bring back some of the enjoyable things from the first game.

Multiplayer is sure better.
True dat. Especially in Custom Games/infection with friends, where sometimes it gets more enjoyable than TF2.
Often Times. Forge is way more user-friendly than Hammer, and combined with Custom Games you can create some pretty crazy shit.
Only thing I noticed was that the acting was terrible. The drill sergeants were making the weirdest facial expressions.
The song was awesome though.

As for Half-Life vs Halo… well, I’d rather not get into that. We all like games, we all have different taste in games, and both games are awesome.
