netbook

Hello all,
I will study in about 2 months and need a netbook for that.
I want to buy one which has something better than an intel gma gpu, so I can play at least some games.
So does anybody of you have a suggestion which one I should buy?

Thanks in advance!

How much are you willing to fork out?

max. 600€

I believe POV (Point of View) has (or had, no idea if they still sell it) a netbook with the nvidia ION chip, aside from that, I do not know any netbook that has a descrete graphics card, or a cpu other than intel atom for that matter

hm, yeah I guess a netbook with ion is the only way to go then… but which one?

EDIT: does anybody now a AMD Fusion based netbook?

anyone?

There you go. AMD Fusion.

Hmm, as far as I know POV where the only ones with the ION License, not sure if that´s true though

Hp mini 311
Got mine for 200 EURO IIRC, can play new vegas no problem.
Pretty tiny too.

hm, ok, thanks for all the suggestions.
seems like I need something better than a netbook.
So, any notebook suggestions?

netbooks are grand

Hate to suggest this, but alienware has the m11x “netbook” with g555m graphics IIRC. I put netbook in quotes because while it does have an 11" screen, it’s a lot thicker and heavier than most netbooks. Overpriced as are all alienwares, but it’s the only “gaming” netbook I know of, unfortunately

The ION in that netbook is considerably less powerful than the gt555m in the alienware

EDIT: not to mention comparing a ULV i7 to an atom… There is no comparison

tiny + cheap

Yeah, but the question was which netbook could handle gaming, and I’m sorry but hiding by benchmarks, that HP would be unable to run BMS in anything but 800x600

If you want portable gaming, I suggest you wait for the NGP. it’s dropping later this year and is a much cheaper and smaller option than shelling out a lot of money on alienware’s piece of crap m11x (which I maintain is the only netbook even remotely capable of gaming)

Portable gaming is for pussies. Real men carry around 20 pound desktops.

haha, I won’t carry my 20kg desktop to the lecture room every morning :retard:
So yeah, the Notebook/Sub-Notebook should be able to run at least tf2 on medium.

IT HAS WHEELS

I feel like these things can only run quasi-beefish games because of undoubtedly microscopic native resolutions
