netbook

You’ll have trouble running TF2 on medium on that HP. I have a Dell laptop with an 8400gs (more powerful than the ION in the HP) and it struggled with tf2 on medium settings at 1366x768 (common netbook res) during heavy fights.

I’d suggest a small 14.1" laptop with some sort of dedicated graphics, like nvidia’s optimus switchable graphics. That’ll give you good battery life, portability, and some gaming ability.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I think I’m going to buy a custom Notebook from Schenker with these specs:
Name: M4S XMG A521 ADVANCED GAMING Notebook 39,6cm (15,6")
• NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 1024MB GDDR3(/W NVidia Optimus)
• Intel Core i3-2310M - 2,10 GHz 3MB
• 4GB ( 2x2048 ) SO-DIMM DDR3 RAM 1333MHz
• 320GB SATA-II 7200U/Min Seagate Momentus 7200.4 (ST9320423AS)
• DVD drive
• Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 (incl. Bluetooth)

Price: 679€

Solid notebook, although the pricing seems a little over the top for me, but then again I’m not sure what the prices are like where you live. Enjoy!

well, I was looking for some other notebooks with similar specs and the price was about the same.
Anyway, I decided to buy a NB with better specs from this Company, so I composed this one(based on XMG A501):

  • 15,6" 1920x1080 Display
  • NVIDIA GT 555M (2GB ded. VRAM) /w OPTIMUS
  • Intel Core-i5-2410M(2.3GHz - 2.9GHz)
  • 4GB DDR3-1333 RAM
  • 500GB SATA2 Seagate Momentus(7200RPM)
  • THX TruStudio Pro Soundsystem
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230

Pics(different specs)
Price: 853,00€

The price is way over my initial price boundary because I pay this thing monthly(about 27€/month).

Nice choice, except I would think twice before choosing that resolution on a 15 inch screen. Well, matter of taste I guess, but my eyes would bleed out from bloody small pixels while, say, reading a lengthy paper.

ever heard of font size?

Text was just an example, not all things are pleasantly and conveniently scalable on screen. It’s a matter of taste in the end, and that was just my two cents, no need to get smart over this.

well, I like not seeing every pixel at the first glance, so yeah matter of taste.
