model: s5212y

Processor: pentium ® Duel-core Cpu E5200 @ 2.50GHz 2.50GHz

Installed memory (ram): 3.00 GB

system type: 64-bit Operating System

Right-click “Computer” (on your desktop) and in the menu click “Properties”. The window that pops up will have the specs.

Edit: Forgot that it won’t give you the video card. On second thought, just give us the model of your PC.

ok i just clicked random buttons in my computer. and i think i got it (the edit to my last post.)

Hm. When all else fails, I blame Intel Graphics.

Have you updated the drivers for your graphics card at all since you got the new PC?

yes it told me to do it 5 times so i did.

Is Half Life 2 running under 32-bit mode?
I remember having many issues running Half-Life 2 with 64-bit mode, so put this in launch options: ‘-32bit’

i got a temp fix i found out if i skip the first to levels i can play it but i can’t play any bit of the first 2 levels.

Wuts ur vid card?

There’s your problem.

I am thinking the video card is the culpret

Did you pray to the Machine God in your computer, maybe you just need to sacrifice a silicon wafer? That’s what I always do, works every time

How when I can run hl2:ep2 on high detail and can’t run the intro to hl2 on any detail.

Have you tried running it in the 32-bit mode described above? I remember my Half Life 2 failing miserably because of that.

What’s your video card?

If you don’t know your PC’s specs, just download and run cpu-z. It’ll tell you almost all the major parts that’re in your computer.

Ur full system specs would be useful.

Or, alternatively, Run–>DXDiag. No need to download anything.

Maybe you have to accept no as an answer, he just doesn’t want you to play!

He gave you the model number. Try google.
Here you go, for the lazy.
