MW3 vs BF3

Not to mention huge maps gta 4 can have instead of Hl2’s seemingly disturbing small maps
And graphics…

Anyway the IW engine is upgraded fron CoD 2 to CoD 4, and to Cod 6 (but I can’t seem to see how MW3’s engine is any different, besides more shiny stuff)

What does that have to do with anything? I was talking about the physics engine not the graphics engine.

Everything. Like Maxey said, it’s more advanced. It looks more realistic when people fall, the way objects react with the world, the way characters do, etc. Source’s physics engine is realistic, yes, but nothing compared to GTAIV’s.

Fix’d

Elitists that are sworn to a certain anything are elitist. That’s just it.

Well, GTA4 actually uses two physics engines, one for the people, called Euphoria, and another for everything else, called Bullet, which features real-time deformation on cars.

I knew about Euphoria, but not about Bullet. That’s interesting, but either way, GTAIV has far more realistic physics than any other game I’ve played.

Almost makes me wonder how Saints Row: The Third is going to stack up to GTA. . .

More like, screw GTA, we don’t care about them much, we’re going to make things as ridiculous as possible.

That’s why they are hiring strippers or something.

Saint’s Row is doing its own thing now, they no longer have to answer to what GTA is doing.

GTAIV’s Bullet engine is free as well.

Oh, Valve can dress it up nicely, and it functions for them, but even in Portal 2, did you notice how you needed to load a new map every chamber? The engine can barely handle the average graphics it produced.
And the physics are decidedly nothing special. Gaming as a whole has moved on from worrying about ragdolls and large objects to smaller or larger physics concerns, i.e. particle physics or large scale destruction.

Plus the fact that almost everything in Portal 2 was bolted to the floor.

they are both generic first person shooters. I just happen to like one better because it’s not the SAME FUCKING THING every single time. plus, you can blow up shit in battlefield. it’s not a separate category. point shoot.

Halo certainly hasn’t died, and I find it hard to believe that nobody plays BC2 anymore, considering that people still play Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on the 360, and the last I checked the PC version of Halo still has open servers with Blood Gulch and sniper rifles.

He didn’t even mention custom edition. You’d think the game came out days ago with the activity it still gets.

I’m just comparing the 2 in general

I was gonna say.

The only reason people stopped playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live is because Microsoft took the servers down. Halo isn’t as popular as CoD, sure, but it’s still always going to be one of the top sellers for whatever iteration of the Xbox is current.

On topic: I prefer the style of Battlefield over Call of Duty. BF is built to promote teamwork, CoD is built to promote running around with one of the three imbalanced guns that outclass all the others and do as good as you can alone. I’m not the greatest player when it comes to FPS games, but I can get behind helping out my team a lot easier than I can get a 25 kill streak with the UMP to call in my nuke.

Why is it when anyone tries to compare the games to each other they can’t resist talking the other one down? Battlefield realistic team based shooter Call of Duty one player dominating nade fest hurr durr. If you can’t present your argument without being bias then gtfo.

Because unbiased people like you don’t exist.
