Look at it this way. CoD is so mainstream compared to BF3 :3 .
I still don’t understand why people care what games other people buy.
Because they feel like if everyone doesn’t buy the game they favor, that must mean that the game will die horribly and have no lasting fanbase at all.
Why don’t we just make a “Lets bitch about COD” thread?
That’s all video game conversations end up boiling down to anyways…
No it’s even worse than that. If they don’t buy the game they favour they feel as if it’s a reflection on their own judgement on video games. If they don’t like it there must be something wrong with it, and therefore me for liking it.
It’s pathetic, but people.
People.
Rayman Origins looks pretty damn fucking sweet.
No, it’s just that any new FPS that isn’t CoD gets flamed and burned to the ground, even if the devs say nothing about CoD. Crysis, Medal of Honor, Halo, Bad Company 2, all good games, but since they were’t Call of Duty hardly anyone played them, and people that never even played the game come out of nowhere and say the game sucks and it’s not better than CoD. Homefront was ok it wasn’t that good to me, but on release all I heard was people saying “this game sux, it’s not on call of duty level”, or “just another call of duty clone” and TBH those games kind of died because of this.
I don’t care if you buy it, it’s how you go about it. If you like CoD and go whore around on a BF3 video, forum, or go posting stuff like “CoD = best BF3 = suxor” and “BF3 fans are bandwagoning fags”(very common 8 year old insult) and stuff then due to how irritating it is that I see this everyday on anything that involves an FPS it ticks me off, usually I try to stay calm, but I have a low tolerance for annoyance.
Sounds like someones grouchy. Also did you know that CoD has used the same engine since CoD2, and are using it still on MW3. Just sayin’
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IW_engine
all they do is slap a new number on their engine and ‘wah-la’ new engine.
To be fair, the engine did get upgraded since CoD4 but the decision to keep it at 60fps throughout the whole series does not let them make a big jump in graphical quality.
The thing is though, as long as it’s at least mostly steady, there’s nothing wrong with a constant 30 fps. BF3 is doing that and looks a hell of a lot better than CoD, pretty much every game of the last console generation was locked at 30 fps.
Though I am playing Shadow of the Colossus and fucking hell the framerate gets bad.
I don’t like Call of Duty anymore either, but making a thread detailing how it’s a sub-par game to you and how BF3 is so much better is god damn retarded, and that’s only compounded when you complain about how CoD fanboys do the same thing on BF3 youtube videos.
Well COD is not that bad if you want some entertainment for a few hours but BF3 got more replayability. That’s how I see it and I’ll buy MW3 for sure when it will be 50% off on steam in a few years. And I preordered BF3 because I like massive battles and the frostbyte II engine new possibilities.
i think COD is a fun, pick up and play shooter. my problem lies with Activision and their policy of bleeding their franchises dry. COD, Guitar Hero and Tony hawk all had way to many renditions of the same thing until consumers finally had enough. And bobby Kotick can suck a dick. The entire model for the franchise is based on limited time windows, while most of the money gets invested into advertising.
And for the development of MW3, why would you use the blizzard employees for the single player and not the multiplayer? seems kind of stupid if you ask me.
Because Blizzard is experienced with making games that make tons of money.
Woah, I already apologized realizing this is just another PC v.s. Mac debate
and I said it’s 2 totally different games
i should perhaps rephrase that. Blizzard is responsible for some of the most fun and balanced online play in gaming history, why would you use an asset like that exclusively for single player? wouldn’t have been wiser to have blizzard employees tweak the perks and kill streaks for multiplayer?
Since when is Blizzard working on Call of Duty?
Simple logic ? Activison owns Infinity Wards. Activision owns Blizzard. Activision wants COD therefore IW and Bliz are working on COD.
Activision doesn’t own Blizzard, dipshit. Merge != ownership
Yeah, I’m pretty sure that despite the merging, Blizzard is still pretty independent.
So you’re telling me that if you were to merge with a rock, you would still have complete control of your body?
