Morroblivion

Anyone remember this mod for oblivion? It was supposed to port morrowind to it and all it had was the landscape? Well now it’s actually pretty much finished and completely playable.

I know most of you will be playing skyrim (as I will, probably wont touch this for a long time), but i just wanted to share in case any of you who loved morrowind want to revisit morrowind again with the (IMO) improved combat and visuals of Oblivion.

Now DaggerXL just needs to be finished.

inb4 complaints that another remake project was complete before BM

Played this a couple months ago, was pretty good then and has had some updates since, I recommend it.

This is a fucking joke. How come they were able to remake a massive game like Morrowind and still release it before Black Mesa?

hurr

Hey, I do what people expect of me.

I have only played a little bit of morrowind, I’ve been hovering on the edge of getting it for a while now, and if this is finished, I’m probably going to go buy it and play through on the oblivion engine.

It is playable, right? Last time I checked it half the armor was invisible and no one could say anything, or something like that.

I hate when mods require me to install a million other mods before. Why not just include everything in a single installer?

Now we want it ported to Skyrim – get working Morroblivion team.

Wouldn’t that be Morrowrim then?

we need skyrim, cyrodill and morrowind in!

Might as well just remake Daggerfall then, since it’s the whole continent of Tamriel.

Can’t help but notice this looks worse than modded Morrowind.

I noticed that too. Not sure if that’s just how oblivions engine looks (looking back, it looks pretty bad in places) or if it’s the modder’s fault.

The problem is that you are directly porting a game with a distinct art style into another engine, no changes, no adaptions. You end up with a mismatched mess of art styles and detail levels that look worse than if it was all just low poly. Its ultimately the modders fault for just making a straight port, not adapting Morrowind for a new engine and time, like a certain other mod is doing.

Nope, you are thinking of Arena.

I wonder if it would be possible to make the entire continent of Tamriel, and depending on which region your in is which story you would play. (ex. If your in Skyrim, you play Dovahkiin’s story, and in the Imperial Province you play as that random prison bitch, etc.) Sure there are huge time gaps, but screw the rules, I have money!

Now, that would require Bethesda to hurry up with the games for all the other regions. :meh:

THAT, or an entire port of Arena to Skyrim. AKA: Skyrena.

I wouldn’t mind seeing an Elder Scrolls MMO with the entire continent as the playing field. Oooooh my~

I would probably never play a TES MMO, unless the mechanics were the same and it was just a multiplayer version of their other games. That would be cool, or they could do it like diablo, where it tracks your character, and you start servers.

I wonder what happened to bethesda’s ideas of adding multiplayer features? They added multiplayer support to battlespire, then they switched engines for morrowind and dropped it forever. IMO a simple 2-4 player coop mode would be amazing, and people who don’t like mp could just stay out of it.

I’ve toyed with the idea of installing this, but they haven’t finished Bloodmoon or Tribunal yet and I think you need those to really experience Morrowind. Plus, I just don’t find Morrowind outdated enough to require an update. But that’s just me.
