Mods Similar to Black Mesa

OP4 2 had some levels leaked.

sorry for the false dead things modb lied to me

no mod is similair to BM as it is unique, the best mod ever and defies gravity

have you play BM? how would you know that BM is the best mod ever? and i would also like to ask if you read the OP or just commented on the title…

1)black mesa has amazing graphics,is an improvement of half life(one of the best games ever made),I’m sure this mod didn’t took years to be dog doody
2)yes I read it.I was just making a joke

I looked at it briefly last night, because I’ve never seen it before, so you’ve got that on me. To be honest, I don’t have much faith because very few mods make it out of development, and even less are half decent to play.

Ninja, I dont know if you yet realize HOW EPIC this mod is.
I am fully believing that when it releases, it will be the single greatest video game ever released. Im not kidding.

If metacritic review it, I predict a 99, composed of all 100s with one or two 90s that say ‘well they didnt change the story enough’ who will be spammed facepalm emails.

i am pretty sure this mod will be good i am was just say that its not a certain fact. You also don’t know how these mods will turn out, its also not very fair to compare these mods based on quality because the other ones haven’t been in development as long.

You forgot about Provenance.

What in the world? That isn’t a remake at all!

You do realize that it doesn’t necessarily mean, that there will never be a decay or uplink remake. Just because couple of teams failed, doesn’t mean that everyone who will try to remake these games will also fail. And they have lots of time to work on them. Look at goldsrc engine. People are still making mods on it and it’s 11 years old. In conclusion, you can only assume that there will never be remakes of decay and uplink. Just as I can assume that they will make them.

he never implied that no one would make one he was simply stating that they were dead, i was looking around the uplink source forums and one of the devs said something about starting up a new project with some of the textures from uplink source https://www.uplinksource.com/forum/topic-43-1.html. so you may be able to keep hoping for uplink source coming sooner the 11 years

oh, i missed his first post… i was talking about his second post. i guess i phail sorry

Amazing graphics don’t make an amazing game.

There aren’t any mods like BM, as BM is attempting to recreate a classic which received critical acclaim with the same company’s new engine. If they pull it off, which I have no doubt they will, it will become a must-have mod for almost everyone who plays the HL series.

Agree with you. Also, I just don´t understand, how they can judge the Guard Duty, if they haven´t seen ANYTHING from it (except the few of small images and a concept art) and they already know that it can´t be good or better than Black Mesa.

Also, the fact is, there are some mods that are actually good looking (some of them look much better than Black Mesa + they are more original), it´s a fact.

And definitely agree with you on the last sentence.

I wouldn’t go there…

Ohh he already went there.

But what he said is true, Not in the sense that you know Black Mesa is a horrible mod which will be extremely horrible( :stuck_out_tongue: ). But in the sense that look at other mods like Minerva, now that’s an extremely creative and original piece of work.

Black Mesa will, is and probably always will be an awesome total conversion mod, but I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s the best of the best.

It’s nice to know that whenever a project has died Mr. Sugar is there to tell us it has been resurrected… again… and again…

Well, tell me just one project I resurrected  . There is no even single project like that. All of the projects are made from scratch. Even the Guard Duty, which is not using any content from Barney’s tales… So, even the Guard Duty is not resurrection…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
