Mods Similar to Black Mesa

Well if you’ve read the FAQ (if you haven’t you’d better do it https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=24) its say that the BM team will not be working on remakes the gearbox expansions partially because other teams will be. Well this got me looking for them and these are the ones i found.

https://obmsource.com/index3.html
^a remake of opposing force

https://www.moddb.com/mods/guardduty dead
^ A blue shift remake

https://opposingforce2.com/ dead
^ a sequel to opposing force, little bit of fan fiction about the 7 hour war

This thread is basically to save some people the work of have to find these mods and to talk about them. If you’ve found any other mods like this please post them

I’m not sure if we should flame this guy or not. Should we?

did i do something wrong? D:

Edit: I looked to see if this type of thing has been posted and it didn’t and nothing about the other mods was in the FAQ so i figure i would save some people the time of looking for them…

noobs don’t read the stickied faq, so I doubt they’ll find a thread buried under 5 pages of more relevant threads. Plus the mods you posted are hardly little-known.

And they’re not similar to Black Mesa. Black Mesa will actually be released.

LIES!!

ok the blue shift remake and opposing force sequel are dead, but it seems like the opposing force remake is still going

Actually, I’m working sound on Guard Duty. It’s far from dead.

orly?

No, downloadable… :stuck_out_tongue:

do you guys have your own website, i would rather link that then this https://www.moddb.com/mods/guardduty i would also like to see it

opposing force 2 is not dead.

Just to let everyone know this, Half Life Uplink and Half Life Decay (the add-on game that came with the PS2 version of Half Life 1) will not be Sourcified.

And your word is definitive because?

BTW, I think OBM:S looks like a bad version of Doom 3, rather than a source game. Anyone agree?

No, we don´t have a website yet, but our webdesigner is working hard on it to bring it to you asap. Also, we are planning to launch the forums soon, I can´t tell you exact date though.

TBQH, I don’t have much faith in these mods. If they were any good we’d hear a lot more out of them. I’ve looked into most of them, and they look okay, but nothing special.

Well, the Guard Duty is a new project, which wasn´t even announced (we just released a description of the mod, teaser picture and a concept art), so you couldn´t hear much about it. We just don´t want to release much media or info to spoil you the entire game  . But you will hear about it soon.

About OBM, from my point of view, it´s shaping better and better. As we are getting more custom content and making levels more polished, it´s looking pretty good to me, I just can´t wait for a media release to see the reaction of the community

lol Raminator…

Also OBM isn’t going to die, things are moving along very nicely now that we have an awesome new modeler on our team.

https://www.moddb.com/mods/uplink-source

The first link shows you that all searches show dead Decay Source projects. Oh, and by the way, the makers of Decay PC (two Ukrainian guys) are not going to make Decay: Source. They simply made Half Life Decay PS2 for PC as a Half Life 1 mod. They told me this in the thread I created which is the first link. The second link shows a dead Uplink Source project. Mr. Sugar (one of the Guard Duty developers) says that Uplink Source is dead on the ModDB comments page.

Opposing Force 2 is still alive =_=…, “I never believe the cake is a lie…”

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
