Modern Warfare 3

Agree, every sequel of CoD is almost the same … but it just have more fans than Battlefield, sure Battlefield is better but for those who like fast faced action is better CoD.

Bobby Kotick is also a greedy prick who wouldn’t know a quality game if it shoved a Molotov cocktail down his throat.

I currently have no doubt that MW3 will be the most profitable game this year, but in the end, it’s just more of the same shit that they’ve been shoveling into gamer’s mouths for years. I definitely won’t be buying it; I demand innovation in my games, or at the very least, a high level of quality and a damn good storyline. With all the corners that they cut to get a new game out every year, Call of Duty just doesn’t, and can’t, have any of that at a level that satisfies me.

Also ironsights, which I hate in pretty much every game because they’re always done wrong (the viewmodel shifts instead of the player’s view, making the gun be held in such a way that the recoil would hit the player square in the ribs in real life, as opposed to it being held properly on the shoulder and the head being moved to look down the sights) and they’re always used as a crutch for “realism” and gameplay that doesn’t have any unique features.

Sometimes you have to suspend realism a little to make something possible in a game. Irons sights is like that; shifting the view model just isn’t practical.

As for Bobby Kotick, he is the gaming equivalent of the anti Christ all rolled up with some douche bag and arrogance.

I bet the game has some stupid bull-shit slow motion kill at the end of the game.

…and low interactivity. Like how this guy played through the whole first level of Black Ops without firing a shot.

You can do that for many games that give you AI companions. Doesn’t make them bad, stop pointing to it as such. Not to mention it was on easy.

Find some real complaints, people.

The sp gameplay hasn’t changed in the slightest? The style hasn’t changed in the slightest? Really the only thing that is different is that the story was a little better and more coherent?

Is it me, or has a new Battlefield been coming out every year since Bad Company

Thats better.

Looks like a lot of studios are annualizing due to the economy. In theory, annualization is good if you can keep a consistently high level of quality content yearly, but this in turn hinders more radical changes to a given gameplay formula. Assassin’s Creed 2 --> Brotherhood --> Revelations is an example of a yearly annualization turnover done right. Each game improves the engine and adds upgrades to the game’s code or gameplay (The combat mechanics in Brotherhood being tweaked to set a more aggressive play style being a standout feature illustrating this point), whereas something like CoD4 --> World At War --> Modern Warfare 2 --> Black Ops would be an example of inconsistent quality. World at War was decent, running in CoD4’s engine with some upgrades. MW2 was a giant graphical step up and a further tweak to CoD4’s gameplay elements. Black Ops, while having a strong story, was a step backwards because they were still using CoD4’s engine (tweaked further, but a graphical step down from IW4.0 tech).

Oh what, I thought codern warfare three was out already. Come on Activision, get on the ball.

EDIT: So as it turns out, Duty Calls is NOT actually a successor to MW2. Needless to say, brix were shat at high velocity.

Oh god, you actually thought Duty Calls was for real? I just… I don’t even… Just get out.

Geeeet OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUTTTTTT!!!11!!1
=P

I really hope he was kidding. It says it’s a parody on the start menu.

Everyone knows it’s a MW2 remake made by the guys who replaced IW when they got fired.

:hmph:

It was clearly a joke.

MW1 : Blow unknown Arab capital by extremists backed by russians
MW2 : Invasion of Washington DC by russians
MW3 : Invasion of London, Paris and Berlin by russians

Original as fuck…

Why is it that most new war games feature America fending off former communist countries, mainly Russia?

Because anyone alive during the Cold War era can’t take a hint that Russia isn’t America’s arch enemy anymore.
