Uh, it’s the same story because they’re sequels. As far as I know, the story arc hasn’t ended in any of the three previous, so I don’t see why this one would not follow it.
I’m not gonna get friends with this, but I like Call of Duty games. I love action movies, and Call of Duty games were always built like you’re in one. I don’t care if the multiplayer is shit because I don’t play multiplayer. Call of Duty 2 is one of my favorite FPS of all time.

BTW, if MW3 has dedi servers and mods it’s proof that us consumers CAN change and or stop CoD. If the pc minority alone bitching is enough to make them do shit right then it means if we got console fags to ever join us we could bring them down or fix them.
I did read about larger maps and destructible environments somewhere, I think it’s probably going to move over to MP, SP map sizes don’t really matter.
If it has dedicated servers, mods, all the stuff that made CoD4 so awesome then maybe I’ll play this… maybe.
Actually MW2 wasn’t bad, if it was I wouldn’t have played 917 hours of it… And what really made it a better game was this.

What? Do all of you people secretly like Call of Duty? This shouldn’t even be discussed in the same community or sentence with “Half-Life” in it. Coming from a person who played cod1 for pc in 2003/2004, and then went to Half-Life 2 for 7 or 6 years at this point, you pretty much know that “hey, COD sucks”. I did kinda’ like COD2. After that I didn’t even keep track anymore. Call of Duty 4 was ok, but a massive clusterfuck online. The rest is history…ignorant adolescents begging their parents to buy the same game every year. I wouldn’t even so much as take 1 or 2 looks at the trailer for MW3. I did. and guess what…same engine, same lighting and resolution of textures.
To put any comments towards Valve’s use of the source engine for so long down. At least Valve supports the pc gamers and everyone else as well. Dedicated servers are no prob. Portal 2 doesn’t look extremely amazing or anything such as that, but it looks better than/has newer technologies, ideas, and physics than what was made by VALVe in 2007. So, who here is really making feasible progress? Valve…or Activision?
I pretty much agree with you, but the above statement shows you are pretty biased. The environments are bigger and the texturing and lighting are better. That said, not by much and not anywhere on par with BF3, but there is some improvement and to say otherwise just makes you an anti-fanboy fanboy.
I was about to rage with facts, but I’ve done it too many times. Looking at it, it seems decent, the scripted sequences seemed better. But I’m not buying the game on release. I’m not that stupid to purchase a game with alot of bugs. If I find out the multiplayer is decent a month after launch I might get it.
But then again: I’ll be too busy playing BF 3 to give a shit if the game turns out to be decent.
In my opinion, Cod 1, CoD 2, and CoD 4 were good games. But everything else after that has been crap because activision had missions of dolars resting on the game, if a large boycott was sucsessfull it could turn the tide and force them to make a better game!
I like COD, I hate Killstreaks, rank whoring, and the Modern Warfare community.
Also, I think it’s kinda funny that the short glimpses of actual gameplay were on-rails stuff.

Campaign: You are tied to the top of a train, given a minigun, and told to shoot down as many helicopters as you can. In 10 minutes.
Multiplayer: All the other players are helicopters that try to drop bombs on you.
Hardcore multiplayer: The bombs actually do realistic damage (unlike any other CoD game!)
They should just rename it to house of the dead zero. It’s a prequel before the virus was invented and regular wars are happening.
