It’s footage (confirmed by Activision to be 100% genuine) that consists of the player, and other armed terrorists, gunning down civilians and security personnel at an Airport. Two things to note: there is a Game Over screen if you, the player, kill an innocent (as seen in the above video), and Infinity Ward have included a warning before this particular section allowing you to skip it entirely.

So, what do you think?

Tbh I like what they’re doing with the series. MW really felt like a good politically-oriented action movie like Black Hawk Dawn or Jarhead. And this scene really proves they’re not scared of shocking people.

Remember the media shitstorm about the sex in Mass Effect? God the mainstream media is stupid.

And what’s with the game over if you shoot someone? You walk around with guys shooting the shit out of an airport but you aren’t allowed to?

I think it’s so you don’t have to feel that you did anything wrong. You merely witnessed cold blooded killings in first person perspective.

I saw a video on Youtube earlier of that same level, except the player was definitely allowed to go around shooting civilians. I think it’s just certain countries that don’t let you shoot anyone. Obviously, there’s still the option to skip in all countries.

I think it’s pretty awesome. Really impressed that they’d do this, because it certainly is shocking. They just have to put lots and lots of labels on it saying “DON’T EVER FUCKING DO THIS SHIT IN REAL LIFE”, because people are that stupid.
And I agree, the mainstream media is fucking retarded. Remember Jack Thompson? How glad are you this kind of stuff didn’t come out when he was doing his thing?

In all honesty, I can understand here if the media goes crazy over this. The mass effect thing was completely stupid, but IW is really asking for it here, and any media outrage is well deserved. However, as long as you are not allowed to participate in the atrocity, then its fine with me.

This and the Washington DC warfare setting could of been this game’s “holy shit” moment (ie MW2’s answer to CoD4’s Nuke.)

Anyway, I fucking hate spoilers. Areith’s death, to many players, was a shocking and memorable moment. Too bad said gamers had to ruin it for future generations.
I’m currently spoiler dodging Metal Gear Solid 4. Only a month and a half to go and I’ll be free from the misery!

I’m personally just gonna laugh when ignorance starts spewing from the media. I’m sure I’ll feel angry, too, but I’ll still laugh at them trying to push their ignorance onto the masses.

Okay, games industry, here’s s simple suggestion:
Before you start to grow some balls and have a war set in modern day Unites States, in Washington DC no less, and give the player the role of a terrorist, and expect to be accepted as an artform (gaming that is), it would be a good idea to NOT MAKE A VIDEO THAT MAKES FUN OF THE WORD “F.A.G.S”!

Between RE5’s “grass skirt” level and now “Fighting Against Grenade Spam”, it’s no wonder why video games aren’t considered art. The whole damn industry is so fucking immature! The only story tellers are Hideo Kojima and the guys at Rockstar (after GTA4 that is.) But Kojima talks too much and GTA LIVES on controversy.

The video is certainly confronting.
I’m just hoping they release it before anyone forces them to make changes or ban it in Australia. They really need an R18+ in this country, i think that kind of content is a bit heavy for younger gamers.

I don’t mind the use of the word FAGS in a video like that, the word has changed so many times in the english langauge it’s not funny.

Also what the crap-stick is up with the SPACE thing in MW2.
