The mod will be out when it’s out I say. I’m not wasting my days counting every single second until its released.
That’s awesome news. I know I’ve been supporting the whole “I still believe they’ll release it in '09” stance, but honestly I’d so much prefer a more polished delayed game than an “ok, well here it is as far as we could get it before '10” game. The gravity of this entire mod is immense. You will be the only mod to have successfully recreated the single best first person shooter of all time, Half Life. You are writing history here. What you release is what will permanently be the quality of this mod, and that’s what it will be remembered by. I’m sure you’ll all sit back and think before you release it and ponder to yourselves if it’s really good enough to set in stone yet. i am new to this site and i must say that i really like ur work guys.
if you have to delay it to make it as awesome as everyone expects (including you guys ofc) then do it. after all, all we are doing is waiting and you guys are working… i dont think anyone should get angry, since you are doing all this for free to give us a chance to play up-to-data game, that we all like.
it would be nice if it can be out in 2009, as you guys are trying to release it by then, however if its not possible then delaying it is 100% correct move.

Man, I can’t remember how long I’ve been following this. I remember the old shots of Office Complex filled with CSS props. The fact that its so close to its (estimated) release is… kinda unsettling. I request you put it back another 3 years or so while I recompose myself.

C’mon, Rabid, you know they’re not down with the whole ‘thinking’ scene.
I just want to point out to everybody, that this is as a clear as possible a stament that the game will not be released in 2009.
This is also why developers shouldn’t keep telling people that a game will be released in a certain year when they’re uncertain.
A project of this size does not go from crappy to awesome in 1 month. 1 month away from releasing a multi-year development project is the time when everything that’s going to be there is there, and you are testing to remove the last few nagging issues and bugs. Not when you need to upgrade the quality of the entire project.
So to everyone that’s been hoping… Know that this drastic of a change doesn’t even happen in such a short time period even with projects developed by salaried teams working 70 hour weeks. But also know that it takes time to get it right.
And developers, learn to not mislead people by leaving up questionable release windows.
Can you please highlight the part in that post which definitively proves that what you say is gospel? Funnily, I just see the Developer telling us that they aren’t going to rush it to get it out for x date but not, in fact, that it will not be out in 2009. Just a little flaw there.
