Mod release speculation thread

Who else?

I think it’s funny that you mention that despite having no valid evidence to base it on. There has been mention a few times that the developers knew it would be later in 2009, but no other mention of it looking like it would be pushed to 2010. That being said, the mod could very well be pushed back, but I’d bet that the team has been working their buns off trying to meet the 2009 ‘deadline’.
I know I’m hoping to myself they release with an awesome and polished product by then…but if it’s not polished off at that point I’ll wait until 2010 to play it the way it’s supposed to be played. After all the devs don’t owe anyone anything do they?

I’ll be happy for the release, ‘whenever’. No… wait, How about 48 hours before my last breath? That way I’ll leave happy…

fyi…my last one will be the one after the one before…

I’m currently unconvinced that Black mesa will ever rear its head in the next month and a half. I am however optimistic that it will be released within the first quarter of the year 2010.
to the devs; I’d be fine with a 2010 release.

I think most of us are.

Mans got a head like a fucking orange… mmmmm.

They DID promise to release it in 2009. They put “2009” in giant letters on their trailer. If a bunch of people get all pissy on the internet, it’s the devs’ faults.

its too bad ram is always so vague and sarcastic when it comes to answering where the devs are…

but i trust that its pretty close to finished and they are just compiling everything.

They didn’t promise anything. 2009 was what they thought was achievable in the time-frame they were given, but things don’t always work out and you have to understand that. Have you not been reading the last few pages? And no, the devs are not responsible for the ‘pissy’ reactions of some immature people on the internet who can’t seem to understand this concept.

So… it’s the devs fault that they decided to create an extremely large and complex mod for us gamers at no direct personal gain to themselves and be a bit over-ambitious about their date of release? That… makes perfect sense!

But seriously, I’m confident that if we don’t hear otherwise within a month, that it will be released by December 31, 2009. And if it is delayed, all the little pissers can go and boycott the mod and never play it. That sounds just about as fair as getting pissy at the devs in the first place. I’ll be happy so long as it gets released, not honestly caring when (but of course sooner is always better, heh).

I still think Half-Life looks graphically good… I still play it every second weekend or so.

They never said it was the release date they just said 2009. For all we know it might mean there are 2009 Monsters in the game although its highly unlikely that that’s what its for.

nowhere in these forums has a developer ever confirmed a 2009 release date.
If anyone can prove me otherwise, I’d love to hear the lie.
EDIT
AFAICT (as far as I can Tell) the 2009 was a rough intended release year, not a TRUE CONFIRMATION of “we Will Release in 2009”

derp.

Guess I gotta eat my hat… that’s right I don’t have a hat.

And how many times have you heard world leaders “promise” something?
If it comes out in 2009, great.
If not, GTF over it.

None of those are letters. :retard:

Calm down there bro, just pointing it out.

lol, that’s why it is IN my HUMBLE Opinion

I too have been following this MOD for a long time as a lurker and then a member pre-crash. I don’t really care how long it takes (within reason) as long as it isn’t rushed to market like so many commercial games.

I actually think us as a community can trust the devs as they take pride in their work and if that means delays to get it right then so be it.

I cant wait but know it’s worth the wait :freeman:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
